I also hope she does not retreat to the bottle. Secondly, because of the harm it would do Faye and all around her. But primarily for the agony it could cause Bubbles. In any relationship lurks the question of how does the loved one value you (if at all). The idea that someone was so distressed at having feelings for you that they ran away into the bottle .... I can only imagine how that would hurt someone whose soft centre peeps out from under her armour so rarely and warily.
