No. No! No, I will NOT ship Faybles. For the shippers, Jeph is like Charles Schulz's Lucy, setting the football up for Charlie Brown to kick, then pulling it away at the last moment. I can see Jeph wringing his hands and cackling with maniacal glee has he ensnares all the shippers as his teasing plot inches forward. I can only envision a sudden plot shift as Melon's ass completes its first orbit and slams into HannerDad's space station, causing exciting drama and mayhem. Yes, I see Jeph's machinations. He can pull not only the football, but also the rug out from under us. No, I will not ship Faybles until that ship is out of the harbor and cruising the open seas!

What I think is significant about Marten's advice is that he has observed Faye and Bubbles from the outside and without such a strong emotional stake. He can see how intimate they are with each other and how much they have become vulnerable to the other. He can see what, perhaps, they cannot because the 'trees' are crowding too close for them to realise the nature of the forest.

Not to harsh everyone's mellow, but I worry about Bubbles. From her point of view, Faye was relaxed, and then after a touching (no pun intended) moment, Faye up and runs away. Depending on how she perceives her own and Faye's reactions, Bubbles might be feeling hurt and abandoned....or not.

So glad this is Marten and Faye now. There doesn't need to be sexual tension; Marten's happy and fulfilled with Clare, and Faye's in a completely different avenue in life, but they're still best friends. I miss having these friendships IRL.
