As the Faybles ship really started to set sail, I went and downloaded all the strips specific to the storyline from 2989 when Faye says her dream job is building custom murderbot chassis for underground robot fighting tournaments to, eventually, 3798 when Faye realizes Bubbles has given her permanent sex hair. It’s 364 pages and it’s right here on my iPad whenever I need to spray lubricant in my eyes.

Beware: that way lies madness for whoever ends up hashtagging the, what, fourteen or so years of strips. I should know: I started tagging my OTHER favorite strip, Wapsi Square, as well as listing characters and locations in each strip. Over the course of a month I tagged two or three years, then got distracted by life and haven't managed to pick it up again. Thank god Paul has been filling the metadata on current strips as he publishes them.

Interesting that historically the strip tended to have its backgrounds be stuff in coffee shops, but now in addition there are lots of tools and apparatus in the shop. Presumably some some of which are fictional and I imagine sometimes are just "mechanical set dressing", but I very much liked the very specifically rendered engine hoist in today's strip.

Me neither. I could go back through the archives (again!) to confirm, but I recall it as being, after a rocky start, the two gradually growing closer, with occasion slips showing deeper feelings (e.g. Bubbles calling Faye beautiful) before the last piece semi-literally fell into place - no "meet cute" moment or the like.
