I just realised something about Lemon's hair standing up in surprise in that last panel. All over Lemon's head are miniscule motors attached to every follicle specifically designed to raise her hair up whenever she experiences a shock. Furthermore, some technician probably spent hours designing those, calculating how much to raise the hair boy, measuring the angle of the hairs to make sure they convey "surprise" rather than "static overload" and running simulations on it to check. So much creation and effort, all to mimic something humans do without thinking. I salute you, you weird AI hair people. o7

Anyone want to place bets on if her little Pumpernickel Problem was a glitch that helped cause the retirement of her old body? Whole new sensorium are likely to much with that. Of course increased fidelity could end up having the opposite effect as well I guess.

Because you're thinking of the characters as relationship puzzle pieces instead of individuals? I made that mistake earlier in the comic, but some folks in the forums helped me calm down and pay attention to their individual threads instead of spending my time in "shipping" mentality.

So, one possible story turn would be for Roko to go to the bakery to test her... bread sensitivity. Elliot would compliment her new looks, oblivious to her trauma (another social fumble for our sweet cookie-doughboy), this leads to adorable apology, promise to bake a very special bread for her, small time-skip for the Cosmo update and lo and behold - they wake up on the floor of bakery together, startled by Renée, who comments on the glowing butt logo.

I imagine that reinforced casing is not difficult to obtain, for your more active A.Is. Lemon mentioned that she still has the same mainframe, so I assume that the hardware was just installed in the new body. Whether the casing was with it is unknown. That said, any protective casing that has been in a serious incident should be replaced. As even if it protected the core, it may still have sustained damage itself.

Does this body have the reinforced processor casing that her last body had? Was it still an option, since she's no longer a cop? Could the casing from her previous body be salvaged (either for her own use, if it wasn't normally available, or by Union Robotics to upgrade anotherAI)?

It's possible her whole AI line has been created with literally "have a fatal flaw" as a feature. I mean, at one point, AIs might just want to simulate derpiness, and the FruitCakes random seed (Melon, Lemon and co.) might literally be one of the early experiments about it.
