I don't remember anything about it, but it does kind of seem that way here. The other, not quite as obvious explanation is that this is Dale & May's apartment; Marigold came to visit Dale; and Momo came along so she could apologize to May as soon as possible.

Back when I was in college, living on the second floor, and lounging/sleeping naked on the couch in the living room under the air conditioner was a thing, we had a code. If you were bringing folks home, when you walked in the (first floor) door you stomped up the steps and yelled "RAID!!!" If you were alone, you yelled "BLACK FLAG!" Yes, we were all comfortable with random nudity, and we were mostly trying to be polite to any random guests.

I think it's more the ignorance of not being really having access to that kind of thing. For years, I could never really understand a lot of the issues my friends had in relationships. I knew a lot of the theoretical, but I was never able to quite get that last brick of understanding.
