Oldest cat I knew got to 20-something. A respectable age for any cat, but this was a barn cat that consistently raised 1-2 litters per year for her entire adult life. Tough life, though you wouldn't know it by how friendly she was. It was also a rather funny-looking kitty, because it was a calico long-hair / tabby short-hair chimera.

When I'm renting in a state that requires leasers to let prospective occupants reserve a place for 24 hours, I'm going to make use of that time to continue looking for the mythical landlord that keeps up their property but doesn't jack up the rent every year, but rather updates their rent to reflect the new market value. Because any time I'm paying $200 more per month to live somewhere than new tenants would pay for the same space, it'll be cheaper for me to move somewhere else. And if I'm paying $400 more per month, I may not be able to afford to not move. Of course, if I found said mythical landlord, and they have a space that works for me available for a price I can afford, done!
