I think that it could be taken that way in a different context/ group of people. In this case, I read it as empathetic of their struggles.

I like the new art, and the range and delicacy of the facial expressions in particular, but everyone has a chin like Fearless Fosdick. How they make out without cutting each other is a mystery to me.

I've two moms, a dad, a stepdad, a stepmom, and a ... sperm donor ( he deserves no title better than that ) And there's only been one divorce in the whole mix (Sperm donor and stepmom) Heh, I always tell people that I don't have a family tree. I have a flow chart.

I have two moms. My dad divorced and remarried. I never understood the reasons for the divorce, but I never for a moment regretted getting my "Bonus Mom". I had two women who loved me to the ends of the earth, each of which was utterly different, yet bound together in their love for me and my sister. A respectful divorce can wind up being good for everyone affected and involved. May we all seek such sanity when things get tough and fall apart.

Regardless, having re-read the entire archive relatively recently I do love the way things look now

Great for chaperonage to most science fiction and anime conventions, SCA events, Renaissance Fares (with obligatory agreement with Neil Gaiman), gun shows, and similar events. Marten is truly the male version of me. My dad is gay and married to a man and my mom remarried as well. I have a mom, a dad, and two stepdads and I am constantly outsourcing them to be parents to my friends.
