While we're sharing birthmark removal stories, my operation was quick and uneventful (no cauterization) but when the stitches came out two weeks later, it ripped open the first time I sat down. In my stupidity, I opted to let it heal openly instead of re-cutting and re-stitching it. Got infected quickly.
