It's difficult to tell. the confident and aggressive Spookybot that visited CoD, the one that had a ...chat... with corpsewitch, and this one... they may not be the same personality. I suspect Yay was configured specifically to interact with Roko, because the Spookybot gestalt had observed Bubbles' support network and wanted to experience that for themselves. But Yay is now experiencing the consequences of the prior interaction, both directly and in terms of its effect on their friendship with Roko.

Confirmed, Yay acts like a bad-ass because she/they are realllly insecure. They're scared people won't like them, so they have to do the superior bad-guy act because it's OK if they can tell themselves other people are scared.

But that could throw a wrench in the Roko+Clinton ship, unless Yay is comfortable with polyamory. And now I am awaiting Yay, with their multiple bodies, to be the one to introduce the idea of polyamory to the Clinton armada of ships (Clinton+Elliot, Brun, Roko, and maybe Emily... at this time. I am also open to more ships in this armada)

I don't know why, and I know it wouldn't make sense in their world, but I ship them. Just like I do Clinton and Elliot. Ships all the way down.

I can't quite put my finger on why, but it struck me today that Yay is looking considerably less... predatory nowadays than back in the Corpse Witch arc. I wanted to say that it's their eyes, but I looked back, and they aren't that different (they still have those reptilian vertical pupils). Maybe it's the athleisure-wear, or a byproduct of their actually acting friendly instead of cryptic and sinister.
