I've been under the impression for decades that we're all crazy. The biggest difference is, some of us can hide it, and some of us have the "normal" sort of crazy. Admittedly, I come to this from the point of view of someone who speaks English. (Though, to be fair, that qualification tends to get people who speak other languages to assert that those other languages clearly confirms the principle.)

It's *ridiculously hard* to eliminate the pejorative "crazy" and I'm still working on it! "Lame"--which is similarly a word I had to make an effort to eliminate--was much easier, and I think it's because it's much more generational/less widespread in use.
