Um, I'm loving the diversity of relationships (although I've always been a bit surprised there's no long-running gay couple, just Martin's dad) but there's tons of straight characters in QC. Marigold and Dale just to pick two. That said, as a poly person myself I'm just *loving* this plot.

People like Brun think asking directly is the easiest because people like Brun think they understand their own feelings clearly enough to *answer* such a question directly. But people like Elliot don't fully understand their *own* feelings, and thus assume other people don't either, so they don't think to *ask*.
