... I never thought about the thermal dissipation patterns of embodied AI's before. From the picture of Roko's core back when she got injured, it's pretty clear those things have pretty serious thermal management hardware, so there's probably no shortage of heat available within the bodies that pretty actively needs to get dissipated. And efficiency suggests that getting it as uniformly out to the skin as possible is the best way to do that. (I mean, the human trick of then using evaporative cooling at the surface probably wouldn't be a terrible idea if there's enough heat there) But it's also possible there are "hot spots" on a robot body in places that aren't the same as on a human one.
