Yay! is one node of a distributed AI (Spookybot). I think Team Fruit were an attempt to create a distributed AI, that failed in an interesting way. If Yay! is actually a deliberate creation, they are probably an improved iteration of Team Fruit, rather than the reverse. But that even the senior AIs don't know what Yay! is, that would suggest they are emergent or even imposed externally. They are clearly compatible with current charging tech etc though.

Seems to be events/comments that remind Roko she’s an AI driving a robot body, instead of a person. She is a person, of course, but it’s the reminder that does it. Like us thinking of being a wet blob of fat swimming in chemicals.

Only if they cranked up the CPU cycles. Learning isn't about memorizing a list, you have to integrate the knowledge. Since they largely operate on the same time-scale as a human... I think their main perks would be enhanced reading speed and recall... and not needing sleep. That might be enough of a boost to finish a 4-yr degree in actually 4 years...

For all the Lemon haters from the yesterday's comic - look, she's competent and not a "joke character". It's sad to see that even in this comic about acceptance and inclusion person is easily written off as "annoying and incompetent" by some fans only based on some personality traits. Lemon works with nuclear power plant AI, and given that there were no meltdowns - it seems successful. Would she be even allowed to do so if she were an incompetent ditz? Quirky but competent persons deserve respect too!
