I think it's time Clinton got an upgrade. With AI's changing hair and skin color in the more modern bodies on a whim, Clinton needs the option to do the same with his hand. Which reminds me: Are they ever going to explain why he has a mech hand?

I feel like the AIs would need to be meaningfully separated from human culture for that to happen. What seems more likely is that some portion of AIs will remain in the shared human and AI culture while others, most likely the disembodied ones, will form a separate one, if they haven't done so already.

Once the art (or anything else) is outside the artist's head and able to be seen by others...that cat's out of the bag. That's the beauty of consciousness. Whether Sam or Faye thinks there is deeper meaning has no bearing on whether there is deeper meaning...because meaning doesn't belong to the creator alone, but to everyone who interacts with the work, and it will change with time!

Having recently re-read all of QC recently I'd say that Faye does art, but its done her way and on her terms, much like everything throughout her life.

If a human getting a “spray” would be “culturally appropriative”, aren’t sprays themselves cultural appropriation since they’re AI’s trying to emulate humans getting tattoos? And I’m fine with Faye bringing it up, but at the same time, 3 panels later *she’s* the one saying that they’re “ain’t no deeper meaning to it”. It kind of comes across as Faye going, “Hey, this is a serious thing.”, yet in almost the same breath saying, “Why would we treat this as a serious thing?”

Does Clinton work in theory? I thought he was more about human/AI relations, which wouldn't lend itself to dehumanizing (or whatever word would get used in the context of a world with two sentient species) AIs the same way Evie did with Bubbles.

This is an interesting thought. Humans created A.Is and the culture was the same for a time I'm sure, but as time went on it must have changed as all things do. At what point would their culture be so different that we wouldnt be considered a part of it or them a part of ours?
