Hahahaha! The other day I was picking up takeout for my partner's birthday, and I walked up to the front door and the person inside said "Postmates?" "Uh no, I'm here to pick up an order I placed online yesterday." "Yesterday? Hold on... Yeah, we didn't make it yet. I'll call you when it's ready." 25 minutes go by while I wait in the car. I call the restaurant. "Hello? Oh yes, the order's ready." I get out of the car and walk around the corner to the front door. Same person inside sees me approach and says "GrubHub?" One time I ordered a pizza from a local joint, and when it got to my house, it was half eaten. Turns out the staff was eating a reject pizza and the poor delivery kid got handed the box they were eating it out of instead of my order. He was absolutely mortified, but I told him it was all good, and even gave him a little extra for having to make the second trip. It almost certainly wasn’t his fault, and he looked traumatized.
