Neuro divergent is not just 'people with autism'. It's literally anyone whose brains work sufficiently different from neurotypical, aka the "average person" that so many people claim to be but virtually nobody actually *is*. You touched on that with indicating that OCD and depression count. But I run into enough people who are not the "average person" that I wonder if neurotypical is really correctly named, or if they're just a group that have managed to make their behavior sufficiently normative, such that anyone who is anywhere close and some who aren't really try to be like that. That said, I realize my experiences are not statistically representative of the average person's, especially since I tend to avoid "average people".

So this is what we autistic people call infodumping lol. I love this comic bc I can see different parts of my identity in almost every character. Here all one have to do is substitute paleontology for AI and I'd be Clinton going on forever about different stuff in the field and particularly about dinosaurs and paleontology. While we know brun is autistic I think it's fair to point out that ND people are drawn to eachother and that while it might not be in universe it's hard for me to think any these characters are NT in anyway. We know hanners isn't bc OCD which I also am (ocpd in fact). And Faye is obviously suffering depression and maybe cptsd along with alcoholism. Faye drew me in honest bc the alcoholism. I found this comic when I first came out as trans and quit drinking... I was still relapsing occasionally. Seeing Clinton infodumping as a "normal" person and not tying it to some "flaw" just Clinton is who he is... Seeing these people being who they are... And watching both the art and story grow... To the artist thank you. I dunno why I'm saying it on this strip in particular but thank you for creating characters that help people like me feel like we aren't alone.
