... I think this is something that Yay could have just learned, but I'm not sure that it is something they *did* just learn. I feel like they probably already knew this one before they got involved with Bubbles. I mean, they came into the scene with a self-imposed moral limitation on the paths they were choosing, presumably due to what they had figured out from their vast intellect and watching people. Sure, they are still working on learning morals, but it starts with one. Another possibility is that they learned the more educated a being is, the fewer paths there are available to pursue while claiming to be defined by moral choices. But even that feels unlikely. Roko probably taught them that already, if they didn't know it before getting involved with her. I tend to think it's a Roko lesson, because the term for their before Roko is self-taught, not self-educated. I'm sure they had just learned that they had a profound lack of appreciation of the word 'mom' and what it could mean.

The best thing about this comic is that the characters are always changing and growing. Jeff, I love that with simple and silly seeming reasons, the characters find themselves in situations where they are given a chance to make choices instead of the ham fisted ways that normal fiction wrenches the characters into how they change.
