I don’t disagree they deserve everything sentients deserve, but I get the feeling there’s a very ugly side of anti-AI sentiment we don’t see in comic out there. There are probably more fundamental questions like “do they deserve to vote?”, “do they deserve to get paid? I don’t pay my toaster every time it toasts a bread for me. They’ll take our jaerbs!!” and “Do they deserve to exist? They don’t die of old age! They’ll outbreed us until there are no humans left!” Legislation tends to be ponderously slow and dinosaur like, look at the fossilized response of many governments trying to decide how to react to cryptocurrency. Now imagine if cryptocurrency was alive with wants and needs and opinions and in theory the ability to kill you by rather easily cutting things in half that are a lot firmer than your squishy meats. People get scared of the unknown and lash out. Government struggles with laws relating to practical things like “how do we not let cyber bandits shut down the entire east coast by ransomewaring a pipeline?” Things like privacy rights for robot healthcare are going to be even more fringe and neglected than that already neglected area, sadly. Which in a way is good, it means there’s little to no oversight saying Faye and Bubbles need certifications and eight years of robot medical school to do what they do. For now. What if someone sued them for robomedical malpractice though? Can they get professional insurance for that? Would lawyers know how to argue a case like that? What’s robot legal precedent like?

Would argue that Millefeuille isn’t there to weigh in on if this disclosure is appropriate. And, like, I would imagine that, like humans, some AI are more and some are less reserved, ya know? You can’t err on the side of Pintsize when they could be a Winston, ya know? Tho yeah, Bubbles might’ve weighed in and would have certainly more experience in the area. Lol

Agreed. It's one thing for Millefeuille to voluntarily point people to Union Robotics if they recognize quality work and expressed an interest in getting some themselves. It's quite another for Union Robotics to tell people about Millefeuille's buttwork. That said, it is my impression that the AI community is a lot more chill about this. Nobody thinks that Millefeuille was born with her marvelous butt, and even if it was factory standard, she made a choice to buy that particular model. I think when it comes down to it, it's up to Millefeuille to determine if Sam transgressed here. That said, Bubbles may have better insight than I do about this.
