Do they do that every time a human pinches off a baby? Of course not. There are forms, procedures, channels. You don't just call an office you file the appropriate paperwork. It's like you're not even a bureaucrat :P

You know, now I'm wondering – each time the Director pinches off a new Moray, do they phone up the government (or local thorities) like, hey, just FYI, a new person just came into existence who's technically entitled to social security and allowed to vote and all, but don't worry about it, they'll probably voluntarily deexist soon? (Forget the Director, for that matter – how does democracy deal with AIs who have suffrage? With humans, there are natural limits to how quickly you can churn out new voters to sway a vote, but we've been told AI age doesn't map the same way, so even if they still have an age limit I assume it's less than 18 years...)

AIs seem to generally be classified as "people with rights", so I would assume they also have the same legal requirements to do things like drive, travel, etc.

Would a Moray 21 passport be usable by any (or all?) of the Moray sisters? How would individuals sisters be IDed? Could the US be slowly invaded by one Moray flying in and then mailing her passport home to the next Moray? Obviously I need more coffee. It’s too early for my little brain to tackle this one.
