I think, when someone asks for the "best" of something, they want either what the house recommends/charges the most for or what the server recommends. That's obvious, and it takes a supercilious ass to throw that in someone's face like that. It's worse when the person being admonished is obviously inexperienced in socializing. Glad to see Claire and Marten making sure that Gremlizabeth isn't the only person being made a target of sarcasm, and also that she feels like a part of the group.
