Pausing February Billing
🕑 Added 2025-02-26 22:06:13 +0000 UTCSorry folks, I'm going to have to skip the reward and pause the billing for another month. My living situation blew up, so finding a new place is taking priority. Billing is now set to resume at the end of March.
I did make progress in the first half of the month though. I tidied up the Fleshcult 2 prototype code some more. I decoupled the Storylet and UI libraries from the game-level code and gave them a little test-bed so I can poke at them in isolation. The game design is still in flux, but I'm pretty happy with the direction of the engine level stuff.
I designed a new data type I call a Trigger. When I defined game variables in the Storylet system, I could give them minimum and maximum ranges and tell them to run a scripts when they're exceeded. But applying these limits universally has been a mess: if you go to jail when you run out of some counter, you shouldn't go to jail again when you're already in jail! Now instead I'm going to define triggers which run scripts if a thing hits a limit within a specific range of menus. Triggers will be another thing you can make in the editor.
