🕑 Added 2022-05-20 05:50:24 +0000 UTCHey all. I just wanted to give everyone a status update since I've been silent for a couple weeks now. I'm alive. I'm working. I'm just not producing porn since May 1st. I know that sucks, I'll get back to it soon, but sometimes you just need to follow where inspiration leads. You do support me though, so here's what I've been doing.
I designed a card drawing system with interpretable text instead of dice rolls for freeform roleplaying. You can play with the tool for free here. You'll have to design your own cards, so there's work to put in before you can get fun out, but drawing cards with NPC art on them and mechanics and quotes directly from your game is really fun.
I integrated two tools in Unity that needed integrating in my opinion. Probuilder and the 2D Tilemap system. I needed this tool for my... experiments. Sometimes you just want that PS1 era map shit. You know that good stuff. Final Fantasy Tactics, Breath of Fire. The tools that other people have made are kind of garbage. So I hijacked Unity's own tools and retrofit them for these types of games. When the package is done I'll offer a download if there are any devs out there. Pardon the borrowed Minecraft textures. It's a test.
I worked on Turn. I didn't do much. Mostly find the fun experimentation. I reimplemented wallsliding. There is also ground sliding, attacking, and a momentum system. There are also additional enemy mechanics. I don't want to show this stuff yet. It's the really boring part of gamedesign honestly. Big test rooms and laser-shooting cubes.
It feels like I should have more I guess. But I hope you cut me some slack, it's only been a couple weeks. In any case, I hope to post more art soon. I'll be in touch.
