Chapter 3 progress

After the release of 0.2.9 in late February I decided to release 0.2.8 as a free demo on itch. After two weeks the game had reached over 10,000 downloads (almost 15,000 now.) This is not something I even considered or imagined and to be honest the amount of feedback can a little overwhelming. Fortunately the comments and ratings are generally very positive but it is a shame when players are encountering some of the older issues of 0.2.8. While that was going on I was busy fixing bugs in 0.2.9 and after that I did get some time to focus on some of the issues with battles. I think 0.2.9.4 is really a step up from previous builds and there is definitely more coming. It may be worthwhile to build and release a new dedicated demo when chapter 3 is further along.
But speaking of chapter 3, I started animating Caspian (shown above) and continued animating the jellyfish surrender scene. The party will meet Caspian in the pirate hideout and I'm planning a special scene for hero and him. I think I'll aim to have the pirate hideout story scenes and the jellyfish surrender as well as any bug fixes and other small changes ready for the first part of chapter 3.
I'll probably continue along the lines of the tavern 'back room' style animation scene with what I have planned for Caspian and hero so I expect it to take some time but it should be worth it considering how popular Cas is on the discord.
And I don't remember if I officially announced this but there is a discord server where I can share more day-to-day development stuff and have discussions about the game. It does require you to connect your discord to patreon if you are interested. If not, I'll continue to post the monthly summaries here and someday soon you'll get to play with Cas yourself.

If you go to your settings > more > connected apps you can connect your discord account to your patreon account and you should get added automatically.

Do you have any bara type characters planned for the main party? I mean all of our party members are pretty and lithe, if that's not your thing though I get it. Don't get me wrong though, this game has the potential to have something for everyone. My favorite characters are the alley stranger and the merc captain for example, those are my favorite parts of your game! <3
