I figured I'd go back and rewatch this on here after having watched it months ago. I knew when the end of this episode came on that the dog thing was going to send you spinning, lol. I actually really liked the analogy he was making though, ever the first time I heard it; that a perfect, flawless dog will never make you fall in love with it the same way a real dog will. You will never laugh until you cry because they...got their head stuck in a bucket, let's say. Because a robot dog would never get its head stuck in a bucket. It is the "flaws" that allow us to relate to SKZ and endear them to us. A flawless group would never have a voice crack, but I love it when one of the guys' voices cracks, when they can laugh it off, it is SO charming and relatable.

i think one thing you forgot is throughout the show jyp consistently praised them on their song writing and producing - even when he critiqued hellevator, it wasn't the song itself he criticised it was that it may have been too ambitious as a first song because it was so vocally demanding. i think his praise for 'grr' and 'spread my wings' was not meant as a dig on their earlier stuff but more so praise for the fact that they have consistently kept up the quality - just when he thinks he knows what they are going to produce, they surprise him with a new side to them. i by know means want to defend jyp, but i did understand his point he was trying to make here. loved the reaction and can't wait for kingdom :)

I really don’t like JYP and that’s a hill I’ll die on, although he’s certainly not the worst of person out there. Happy to have gone on this journey with you Nigel. This is my 11th time watching (suffering) through the survival show, and I always learn something new each time. Looking forward to getting into kingdom with you! jyp is not a good person in general so you can see it here too lmao he recently was talking about how he tells his artists to 'smile and pretend everything is okay' if they feel depressed or anxious because it makes everyone else 'uncomfortable' which is literally the worst thing you could say to someone who is feeling those emotions. and in general hes a weirdo so LMAO glad skz and other jype artists have each other to rely on

Fair enough if you think some of what JYP said was out of pocket and misworded, i think he was a lot more harsh in this survival show than i’ve seen him in any other survival show or any other content of him in general, so i can see how people get pissed off by him if this show is their only point of reference 😭
