Was a kingdom stay and on voting teams. Stray Kids was still a very hated group at the time so the voting for 3 teams caused problems. Atinys for example wouldn't vote for skz so they stacked votes for other groups like btob and sf9

I know I'm gonna get hate for this, but to me I'll be your man was the wrong choice of song. BTOB has 4 amazing vocalists known in Korea for their vocal abilities and stability live (2 of which weren't in the show, which is why when BTOB talked about performing the song Changsub refused, even one of the original singers said it was too difficult), the judges know this, they will compare to the original. And if you hear the original song performed and you hear straykids one, you can tell some of the highnotes were rushed, they hit it but couldn't keep it that high. Only at the end were they stable. That's the danger of doing a very different style and well known song. Did they deserved 6th? No, but I also wouldn't have rank them very high.

The difference with SF9 and The Boyz for Self Eval vs The Judges was WILD. I mean clearly the Boyz had technical issues, snd SF9’s story was so good! I’m trying to be nice about SKZ for self eval. The teams ONLY get 3 votes. So I could see voting for BTOB, ATEEZ, and SF9 as an example, and then SKZ get only 1 vote. But the judges should’ve been more impartial.

Initially, only knowing the SKZ performance going into this show, I thought they were robbed. But all the groups really brought their top game so I get it. I wasn't going for any other group before Kingdom but Wooyoung cracks me up and is why I started looking into ATEEZ more. I love their personalities, just their music style isn't for me. But I appreciate their talent immensely. If I ever get through all the SKZ shows and media I might circle back around. But for now the music just doesn't click for me.

I agree that the professional judging makes no sense to me. I don't know if I would have placed them 1st, but DEFINITELY not 6th. It was a SOLID round for all the groups but IMO, IKON should have been placed last, based on performance. They were GOOD but Bobby's parts were so out of synch and chaotic at times that I felt like it took me out of enjoying the perf. as a whole, but I LOVE what they did with Inception, as a song. Oh well, we know the next eps are GOLDEN so I'm happy to be moving on :)

I'm not gonna lie I felt like skz bit off more than they could chew. There are no bad performances on this show, and because of that it gets harder to rank as it goes on. I wouldn't have put them last tho 😭 especially cuz you KNOW I.N thought it was his fault they placed so low. My ranking was SF9, ateez, BTOB, stray kids, ikon, the boys. That being said, I think after this round no one really cares about the points. This was a show where they have fun doing what they love and testing their limits. Everyone put their best foot forward EVERY ROUND.

also, its rlly not common for kpop groups to write their own music let alone produce it- especially to the extent that skz does! some will occasionally have members that write or produce a few (and i really mean a few) songs later on in their career. it's abnormal for a group to have such a HUGE amount of creative control,,, even ateez (which i don't know much about!!!) are a kind of abnormal because their leader produces & writes most stuff- the reason why BTOB were saying that's why they're so good, its that they make the music themselves so they know how to cater to their skills and concepts!! This episode broke my heart, skz were AMAZING But i remember reading that the possible reasons they ranked low was because the task was to take another teams song and turn it into their song and have their vibe but skz wanted to show another side of themselves so it maybe didn't seem like skz to the judges

The first time I saw Kingdom, I was getting introduced to Skz and this episode still gave me the worst whiplash. NOW that I'm a STAY, I almost can't handle it! And it's not even just SKZ.. HTF did BTOB and Sf9 get such low ranking based on the judges??? BTOB interpretation of Back Door was pure genius and SF9's Stealer was a MASTERPIECE and so CLEAN and had a brilliant storyline just as much as ATEEZ' did. For the self-evaluation, the only reason I can think of SKZ getting 5th was maybe just because they went last and their performance wasn't as INTENSE as the ones before them. Technically, they did so well but maybe the storyline didn't hit as hard on first impact for the rest of the groups compared to ATEEZ or SF9. Whatever, on to the next episodes. They're pure happiness and enjoyment, Nigel. Fuck the scoring at this point.

That’s absolutely false . A voice crack doesn’t rank you that low . And you can’t even count that as a real flaw because literally NO ONE noticed . And JongHo was the only person doing said high notes , which is why I think SKZ should’ve ranked higher. I’m pretty sure there are other singers , but I feel like they just focus on dance and performance instead of mixing in vocals. (IMO)

Kpop history fact: a majority of kpop is produced by labels, so they bring in song writers for many groups songs. (If you ever decide to check out older songs, some start with a whispered 'jyp' because he produced it). It is not common for idols to create their own music. It became more acceptable after GDragon became the first idol to write and produce a lot of their music, and then more known with BTS. So when they bring up 3racha making the music, it is not common. That's why so many people are shocked when they hear the idols made the music.

StrayKids deserved a higher ranking than ATEEZ imo and here’s why : THEY ACTUALLY USED THEIR VOCAL RAP DANCE AND PERFORMANCE ABILITIES. I’ve noticed that ATEEZ use JongHo for the specific high note as the “eye grabber” . I’m not mad that ATEEZ ranked first , but I’m mad as hell that SKZ ranked 6th and 5th. StrayKids panned several octaves and reproduced the whole song . No hate to ATZ or their fans , but I just believe that StrayKids should have at least come in 1st or 2nd .

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but at the time a lot of Stay thought that the child in the performance was supposed to represent Hyunjin and the members were all trying to get him back by sacrificing themselves, but they didn’t sacrifice one of their own members so in the end everyone except Chan died and the boy came back, so Chan lost everyone trying to save one. It was a great performance and they should have placed top 3 for it.

I really liked sf9 performance but I placed them 4th in my list. I really liked stray kids, ateez and btob my top three

As a StayTiny they both did so well!! But a fun fact that I think you'll find interesting about ATEEZ is their storyline. They are so good at peppering references and spoilers that we don't even know are spoilers so far in advance. There are things from this performance that turned out to be part of songs from over a year later, so they planned out THAT far in advance! But seriously ATEEZ and Stray Kids both did so well these were such great performances! Also, is anyone else excited for him to get to Love Poem?!

I started kingdom before knowing stray kids and was rooting for them the whole time and this episode had me GAGGED. couldnt understand it at all. the other teams were good but its literally incomprehensible for them to get FIFTH. not sure if the judges and i were seeing entirely different performances because nothing came close to the emotional impact of ill be your man. if anything i feel like jeongins "mistake" added a perfect amount of desperation...dont make any damn sense. well whatever...we already know who's the best now anyway 🤷

It’s actually really ironic that you joked abt ateez paying off the judges bc their company is tiny LMAO debuting them put their company into debt bc of how poor they were, so i was so proud of them for doing so well here. on the other hand… stray kids were snubbed by the judges in this performance. I totally agree that it’s their greatest performance, and I honestly have no clue why they ranked so low. The judges “complaints” don’t even make sense. I will say that I believe the other teams were shocked too, because based on the self evaluation scores it seems they did get plenty of votes. Next episode is great because there’s no pressure HAHA I look forward to seeing your reaction to it!!!

When I first watched Kingdom, I was only a Stay. And this episode made me realized how effed up the voting was. Going back and watching it as an Atiny as well, its crystal clear that the rankings mean nothing. The next few episodes are a lot of fun! you will like them Nigel!! Don't give up!

Btw that child was representing Hyunjin (the ring they were all wearing was around its neck, signifying he is one of them) and they gave their lives to save that "child". This performance had so much more meaning to stray kids than average audience catches❤️

For me, this skz performance is my favourite out of all their kingdom performances, and that says a lot being all their performances are crazy as hell. So yeah, makes me stressed till this day that they didn’t rank high. And to imagine how I.N. feels knowing that the kid probably blames it entirely on himself is just……He cried so many times because of this performance even when they’re back at their dorm just breaks my heart. And how is it a mistake when nobody could notice anything was off ?!?!

Nigel during this time Ateez was going through a lot. Like most of the groups there, they were missing a member, four of the members were filming a k drama, PLUS this was during their ‘Fireworks’ comeback. They were so tired and frustrated but they were also very grateful to be doing so much.
