I only connected with Mayfly. It wasn't even a question for me. Having more, and more visuals in a dance, makes a difference. More in a singing performance can only hurt you bc there's more chance for mistakes.

I think if that one guy in It's One didn't strain his voice so much they would have been closer and had a slim chance at winning but I think because he strained it so much they kind of lost that chance. And it definitely wasn't his fault. I don't know much about singing and music but I do know that to hit a note that high is extremely hard especially after singing for as long as he was.

Once again, they definitely could have given the dance performance to them because of how detailed it was. Either way this show isn’t really determining anything. Nobody loss anyways. The fact that they’re singers and dancers and rappers in these groups already shows they’re good enough. So even though It’s One didn’t get that performance, regardless they all won in my heart. This show rlly isn’t determining anyone’s skill since they’ve already debuted.

I agree on its one's dance performance 😭 the storytelling was there, it was elegant, it was ART. No doubt mayfly's performance was epic(as they always are) but I felt like it didn't have the same substance as its one. What I had to come to terms with was that kingdom is not a technical challenge, it's a performance challenge. The goal is to use props, stunts and graphics on top of showing skills and making it work/not feel like the circus. That's something the mayfly teams do really well, especially when it comes to dance. I have never been so proud of people I don't know than when I saw love poem for the first time 😭 eunkwang and jongho stay blowing their pipes in their songs regardless of the genre, but seungmin doesn't get to show off like that much. It's not even a question of IF he can, we KNOW he can, it's just so good to see him do it. Like changbin said "you'll do well anyway, I'm not worried" 🥹

Totally agree (dance units) “it’s one” had the story line and emotions HOWEVER “mayfly” had the stunts, dance moves, and more dance tricks let’s be real yes it is about story telling ofc but it’s also about dancing hence it’s the dance units and “Mayfly” did their job “it’s one” also did their job but I don’t think “mayfly” was at risk of loosing at any of the competitions 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

I loved the it’s one performance and I really felt for the sf9 member , so heartbreaking but the Mayfly performance was flawless . The combination of all 3 voices blending together really warms my heart, I still get teary watching it. You gotta give it to Ateez they knew what they were doing when they teamed up with Stray kids and BTOB. They had a very specific goal in mind. Not saying they don’t admire and appreciate the other 3 groups because they all have the greatest respect for each other. They got to work with seniors that they are inspired by and a group that is from the same generation as themselves that they have wondered how things work in their group. This whole challenge is my favorite. Will you watch the rest of episode 8 then start episode 9 or just finish episode 8 up. These last few episodes are full of so much great entertainment and outstanding performances. I’m excited Nigel Oh I didn’t get to say where I’m from…… well let’s just say that I have a lot in common with Chris and Felix . I have a suggestion... I don't know, it always seems to really glitch on the performances. You can watch the performances ( with the 6 groups reacting like on the show) on YouTube. They have like the version of reactions.. and they have the straight up performances without interruptions on there. Maybe watch Viki until they perform and switch to YouTube for a sec, then go back ? Just thought I would let you know and have another option =)

I remember reading somewhere that Seungmin, Eunkwang and Jongho were all singing this song with such passion and love for one of their members. During Kingdom each of their teams had one member that was either missing or on a hiatus. Not really missing but unable to perform with their members. That being Seungmin singing for Hyunjin, Jongho for Mingi from Ateez and Eunkwang for ilhoon of BTOB. If you read the lyrics it fits perfectly with them saying that they will still be there for them during their hard time of being alone. It is also said to be one of Hyunjin’s favorite songs. I wonder how Hyunjin would have felt watching this live. He always says Seungmin is HIS singer. This was HIS singer singing for him!

As far as Blackpink lyrical content… most of their title tracks don’t have much. But I don’t listen to any of those when I want to feel anything but hype. I just get a little tired of the songs sounding so similar. But that’s not on them, it’s on their company. I hope they do better without YG. Nigel, you can watch the full version of kingdom on mnet. Go to you tube, type in mnet kingdom in the search. It has everything. You will have to search through the episodes to find what you’re looking for but it’s worth it. You will see so much more of their interactions and practices. It’s very cool. And since it’s you tube you won’t have the same problems.

Idk if someone’s already suggested this before or not, but if the performances keep freezing, you could always watch the full performances on YouTube. The official “Mnet K-POP” channel has all the performances uploaded in good quality. It might be good to try out, just pausing the episode and then watching the performances uninterrupted on YT. You could also have them preloaded, you just have to look up “[group name] kingdom performance ep8/9” on YT and the performance will come up. For example, the skz one would be “skz kingdom performance ep8”. etc etc. Just a suggestion since I know you’ve been struggling with the freezing a lot since Viki sucks, hope it helps if you end up trying it out
