OJTTEG-Chapter 32: I Eat Them All Equally
🕑 Added 2025-09-25 03:31:45 +0000 UTCWith troll genes infused within experimental subjects, Cain is the sole survivor.
In truth, he's not the perfect specimen. But that's a compliment, because he's stronger than the intended perfect experiment.
He can alter his body's size at will, and when he shifts into troll form, his skin hardens.
Though he can't move in this form, his skin becomes nearly impervious to any weapon.
Of course, if missiles or similar weapons were used, they could easily take him out. But who would launch missiles into a bustling city?
Moreover, the sound he produces is alluring, a result of genetic mutation.
Thus, he gained freedom, in every sense.
For three years, he roamed various cities, targeting those with beautiful appearances, regardless of gender. He believes only those with superior genes are worthy of his hunt. The Scholars' Church agrees with his aesthetic.
Such arrogance naturally attracts attention, but without exception, either they fail to catch him, or he seizes the opportunity to snatch away the beautiful ones.
Today is no different.
This guy named Haunter wants to date Fiona? What a delightful surprise! Haunter's genes are excellent—medium-length brown hair, deep eyes, and he’s well-toned from frequent exercise, making him tender and juicy.
And Fiona, well, she's already my target. A perfect catch!
But the plan went awry.
The building collapsing was unexpected, and instead of Fiona, Haunter's sister, Anastasia, showed up.
"What a pity."
Though she shares the same beauty, her body lacks a bit of perfection.
No matter, would you refuse a delicious tenderloin just because it's missing a small piece?
Of course not, I eat them all equally!
Unexpectedly, Anastasia, despite her delicate appearance, also has the blood of a mysterious creature and is connected to Haunter.
To be precise, it's not really a connection, as it's clear these two are already exhausted.
They must have fought before I arrived.
Regardless, today was still fruitful; at least I got two delicious bodies.
What to do tomorrow? I should disguise myself as Cain, go back to school, lure Fiona out, and devour her. Then I can leave this city.
As for the members of the Scholars' Church who brought me here? It seems they were ambushed today. Someone who looked like a professor or scholar used himself as a focal point to summon a massive fireball that exploded in the center.
Apparently, many people died.
But what does that have to do with me? I'm just here for the meal.
Cain slowly withdraws his hand from Haunter's chest cavity, casually flicking the blood onto the ground with a flourish, and gently wipes the blood from Haunter's face.
"What a magnificent face."
After admiring it for a moment, Cain grabs Haunter by the collar and drags him into the darkness.
The sweet body deserves nothing less than steaming to capture all its flavors; the sensation of sealing in all those juices is simply divine.
"Where are you taking me?" Haunter asks, his voice strong and full.
"You don't need to know..."
Cain responds out of habit.
Wait. What's going on?
Suddenly, Cain releases his grip, transforming into a towering three-meter giant, and stomps Haunter into the ground. The floor seems to tremble for a moment.
His weight as a giant defies appearances; his stomp collapses the concrete floor as if a heavy truck roared by.
And Haunter? Shattered. Organs scattered, the stench permeating the air.
No matter how well he faked death, he's truly dead now, reduced to a mosaic beyond recovery.
It's a bit mind-boggling; who knew a person could live so long without a heart?
Now everything should be fine.
The ingredient is a bit imperfect being shattered, but it's all the same. Even if turned into chunks, a prime steak remains a prime steak.
Staring at the motionless Haunter, Cain regretfully picks up the more intact pieces and heads back to his temporary hideout.
But it's puzzling—how did Haunter survive just now?
With this question lingering, Cain keeps Haunter's shattered form in his peripheral vision. Just as he shifts his gaze to the road ahead, the unexpected happens.
"So decisive, huh?" The person in his grasp chuckles, covering his nose. "But it seems you didn't finish me off. Want to try again?"
Well, this is a situation—his food suddenly comes back to life, hopping around right in front of him.
What the fuck is this, a horror story?
Without a second glance, Cain drops the body to the ground and quickly attempts to flee the scene.
His objective is clear: when things go awry, he chooses to abandon the plan immediately.
I've seen it all! If I can't catch one, I'll just switch to another target.
Thinking this, Cain suddenly feels his body weaken significantly.
"What the..."
……
Night, 8:04 PM.
"Are you finally going to use your starter pack?" Nyarlathotep flutters excitedly beside him.
"Shut up."
Haunter picks up a golden mask, its design a fusion of numbers and dice elements, quite aesthetically pleasing.
He puts it on.
First, he feels the mask merge with his face, and in the blink of an eye, the stinging sensation of rain hitting him is apparent.
His consciousness returns to reality.
"This rain must be coming down sideways."
Wait, the stinging isn't from the rain, but from his chest cavity.
Damn, that hand is still there, crushing his heart.
Miscalculation—he should have waited until the hand was withdrawn before putting it on.
Now, even with the mask, he has to die again.
This hurts like hell.
Haunter tilts his head decisively and loses consciousness once more.
...
Everything in the world has probabilities; no one can guarantee what will happen next.
For instance, a car might suddenly catch fire, or an important figure might be assassinated. Even a plane crashing into a skyscraper isn't impossible.
Thus, the ability given by that unscrupulous deity is:
To make judgments about the probabilities of all things in the world.
Time limit: 2 minutes.
1d100 (using a hundred-sided die for judgment), each event can only be judged once. If the brain can simultaneously consider multiple events, it can judge multiple probabilities at once, but it's a heavy burden on the mind.
For example, judging the probability that the person in front of him will suddenly die. Suppose the needed number is within 2. Now, check the result.
Sure enough, the die rolls a 5.
So the result is 5/2, judgment not successful.
The rules are similar to tabletop role-playing games.
