The news about HIV
🕑 Added 2025-01-08 19:51:23 +0000 UTCDuring the medical examination, Giers learned that he was HIV-positive.
The news about HIV shattered everything Giers had been hoping for.
First of all, he didn’t know where to get the medication. Of course, on paper, the government is supposed to provide the necessary therapy, but the problem is that it’s only available to those who have SOMEONE on the outside. Someone who can raise awareness, someone who cares about the life and health of their loved one in prison. Giers has no such people; none of his problems will ever leave the prison, so he has no chance of getting the medication and all the help that the government is supposed to provide. No one will ever know that Giers didn’t receive what he was entitled to. The doctor warned him about this.
The second problem was that with an HIV diagnosis, he couldn’t hide his past anymore. This diagnosis completely ruined all of his plans for the adult prison.

I wonder if Valery's sickness will be relevant to the story, I mean, of course it is, that's how he gets to know Akademik; however, will it be a constant obstacle or problem for him in the future?
