I had turkey's when I was a kid they were lovely. I had a female that would sit to be pet every time I got close to her. My youth group leader actually had one that lived to 20 he was also extremely tame.

This city to country girl had chickens, ducks, geese, guineas and quail (parrots, finches...) . My country boy husband put his foot down in regard to turkeys. He said the pain in the butt ratio was to high. Since he allowed me anything else I wished to add to the zoo I gave him the turkey ban!

I want to point out, that yes turkeys can and have drowned by looking up into the rain. It happened once to a group of turklets that I was taking care of. Luckily only one died like that but it can actually happen😂
