I think it's a case of an alien virus that hit aliens first and since it thinks of it self as the key for Permanent hapiness it made a recipe of how to creat a copy of itself and transmitted it to the whole galaxy or however long the distance is just to share the key to happiness with other intelligent species but it's not connected to original one unless it thinks that all intelligent species should connect with each other which could be the plot for future seasons
