I don’t think it’s that Colin is used to getting any girl that he wants, nothing has shown us that he feels that way, he’s just incredibly nervous and doesn’t know how to ask Penelope if she feels the same way he does. In his mind, she rejected him under the willow tree. He asked if they should stop their lessons because of the kiss, hoping that maybe she’d say yes, and not only did she say no, she said it would never happen again and that she needed to focus on other suitors. Also, Colin is a guy who prepares for big speeches. We saw that last season when he said he rehearsed his speech for cousin Jack for hours. Poor boy just got tongue tied in front of his soulmate.

I’m going to try not to comment too much as I watch your reaction, but I just adore this episode!! It says a lot about Colin that it wasn’t a sex dream. He dreamed that he confessed his love for Penelope and, more importantly, that the feelings were reciprocated. Our boy Colin is such a romantic and has desperately been trying to find a deeper connection with someone, he just didn’t think it would be with the girl across the square.
