530 HxH: The Strongest Assassin
🕑 Added 2025-06-08 05:02:01 +0000 UTCWing brought Killua and Gon back to the small apartment he was temporarily renting.
Well—calling it an apartment was underselling it.
The space was huge. The central living room had been converted into something resembling a training area. Except for the tatami mats laid out near the window, the room was completely empty.
Two bedrooms.
Two bathrooms.
A kitchen.
And plenty of space.
Wing sat cross-legged on the floor, with Zushi sitting quietly beside him.
"Sit down," he said.
Gon and Killua obeyed without hesitation.
"How much do you know about Nen?" Wing asked.
Killua and Gon exchanged glances. Killua gave a small nod, signaling Gon to speak.
"Alright," Gon said. "We first heard about Nen from Kaizen. On the airship heading to Heavens Arena, Killua ran into a guy who could open his aura nodes automatically. That made us curious, so we asked Kaizen."
"He told us it was called 'Nen.'"
"Later, during the Hunter Exam, we learned that some examinees already knew how to use Nen. Kaizen mentioned that there's a huge difference between people who can use Nen and those who can't."
"He also said the Hunter Association would assign teachers to train us after the exam," Gon added.
Killua chimed in, "When my cousin Kaizen introduced Nen to us, I realized I'd already encountered a lot of people who could use it. Especially in my family."
"There were plenty of Nen users on the 200th floor of Heavens Arena too. I used to wonder why I trained so hard, but others had strength and abilities I couldn't even begin to understand."
"But now I get it."
Gon leaned forward, eyes glowing with excitement.
"Wing-san, if we learn Nen, can we become really strong?"
Wing was quiet for a moment.
"Nen… how should I put it. It's a type of power," he said slowly. "If you master Nen, you gain something extra—something ordinary people don't have."
"But it's also dangerous."
"If it spreads recklessly, it can cause real harm."
"That's why, before I teach you any real techniques, you'll need to go through some foundational training."
"Starting today, after your matches, come straight to me."
...
Kaizen returned to his own floor just as the sun was beginning to set.
Not long after, Shizuku, Sally, and Siper came back.
"Team leader?" Sally and Siper were both surprised to see him waiting.
"Shizuku, Sally, Siper." Kaizen nodded. "Wash up. Dinner's almost ready."
"Yes, Captain."
The dining room was spacious and elegant, partitioned slightly from the kitchen. Inside, a team of chefs was busy preparing food.
These weren't the usual public chefs—Kaizen had personally hired them from Heavens Arena. Since he'd sent the staff chefs off on another task, he had to cover the extra costs himself.
But the expense didn't matter to him.
Everyone sat around a round table.
As Kaizen looked at them all, a strange emotion stirred in his chest. Somehow, his team had grown this large without him even noticing.
His gaze drifted, and his mind went back to earlier days.
He remembered Nina—he met her at Heavens Arena. Because of her, he got entangled with Carlisle and ended up crossing paths with the Seven Deadly Sins.
That incident led him to Orion, one of the three main cities controlled by the syndicate. There, he destroyed their No. 2 experimental lab and released a number of their test subjects.
One of them was Alita, whom Kaizen had also encountered during the Hunter Exam.
As for Shizuku, he met her during a recruitment drive for personal butlers in Meteor City. When he realized who she was, Kaizen didn't hesitate—he invited her to join immediately.
After all, being from Meteor City and a member of the Phantom Troupe? That alone said everything about her potential.
Her Nen ability, centered around her vacuum "Blinky," was remarkably versatile.
Space-type Nen abilities were rare, even among Nen users.
Kaizen had his own space-related skill thanks to Sumas, but even so, Shizuku's Blinky had unique value.
He started to imagine a combat scenario.
Other teammates would wound the enemy.
Then Shizuku could use Blinky on the enemy's open wound—drawing the blood straight out of their body.
In the original storyline, Shizuku had done exactly this to one of the Chimera Ant. Despite having little offensive power herself, she sucked the ant dry through his wounds.
Now imagine pairing her with Chitong.
Shizuku would draw the blood out with Blinky.
Chitong would then slash through that blood with the cursed blade, Muramasa.
Its one-hit kill effect would trigger instantly.
Perfect synergy.
Alone, Shizuku lacked killing power.
Chitong, meanwhile, needed to get close to land a fatal strike.
But together?
Devastating.
"Shizuku's Nen proficiency has reached B-rank," Kaizen thought. "She can definitely hold her own in high-level fights now."
In the world of Nen, support-type users didn't need to be on the same level as combatants. Their abilities were often just that valuable.
Take the Chimera Ant arc, for example—Meleoron, Killua, Knuckle, Shoot... even the support-type specialists made crucial contributions.
Honestly, Chitong's skill was also support-like in nature. Sharing pain with the Lantern Ghost—very situational, but powerful.
Killua, of course, stood out thanks to his overwhelming speed. He'd pushed himself to a level even Youpi couldn't keep up with.
"And Nina," Kaizen thought. "It'd be ideal if Tessia could reach A-rank as well."
"Then there's Sally and Siper..."
Sally was currently at C-rank—likely her upper limit.
Siper had finished all the basic Nen training and developed her own ability under Sally's guidance, reaching D-rank.
"They can help from long range, but that's about it."
"But honestly, it's not like they're slow learners or anything."
"For an average team, being able to recruit people like them would already be impressive."
"The real issue is just that I've improved too quickly."
