Hmm so this new role (that I'll just call Interceptor for now) seemed to automatically replace Fernet in combat. I'm betting Sham had to choose a target to protect and replace fights for. The Intercept command gave +1 to every stat and I'll assume that if Sham hadn't been KOed there, she could've completely replaced Fernet's fight but since she was, Fernet still had to fight the boss. Maybe if she hadn't used that ability and still survived, it would've still prevented Fernet from having to fight, but maybe the Intercept command is the main way for the Interceptor to make sure they can survive the fight. Maybe they won't get any natural combat stat buffs from normaing. I'm thinking the Interceptor's purpose is to help protect the squishier roles like Healer or Dealer where you'll fight instead of them, or maybe just change target to someone who seems low on HP. This could be very useful!
