Lick Of The Day #6 - Fast Fingerpicking
🕑 Added 2019-01-26 15:03:35 +0000 UTCThis time we dive into the world of fingerpicking for the first time. We look at one of my favorite patterns/tricks concerning this topic. This works perfectly for licks in triplets, we are working with pull-offs here to reach a fast tempo rather quickly. Licks like this one sound much harder than they actually are! When you write a lick like this make sure that the note you are pulling off to is also part of the scale.
For this example I ascend the Db minor scale and make sure that I only play notes in this key, that's why there's this nice melody to it - so don't make it sound like a bunch of random notes when you rework it for your own material. Also focus on playing the triplets perfectly in time and on not generating any unwanted noise by pulling off!
