#131 - Combining RIFFS and SOLOS: Chord Melody Arrangements!
🕑 Added 2020-11-17 14:01:01 +0000 UTCWelcome back to another wishlist lesson :) Today I'd like to show you how to combine riffs with solos - this approach is very common nowadays and you will come up with some amazing and modern ideas with this concept. The main goal isn't learning this exact riff (although it would be great to work on it), I wanted to explain my composition process so you can get creative yourself!
Please make sure to check out the additional PDF sheet I made for this lesson (Chord Melody Concepts), there you can find the 2 main approaches summarized once again.
One small detail: I ended up liking the sound of the Gmaj7#11 chord so much that I also used Cmaj7#11 in the final riff - but Cmaj7 would sound great as well if you would like to go for that :)

Wow - this is so creative! I am still trying to perfect the Sweep arpeggiating - I love that technique

This is awsome
Good, clear explanations! Makes it a pleasure and still a great challenge to parse through. Bravo!

Awesome lesson! I would love to have in the download section of the patreon the backing track/drum part as mp3 file of this riff-solo (in lesson#90 the drum part hugely help me to lock the rythm)
Alternative title for this lesson : "How to Polyphia" ;P. Love it btw ;)
