The PT is patiently listening to the customer describing what he is after with his training. He's just there to make sure he keeps in shape, he says. The PT nods silently. He'll be in every Tuesday 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and he can do some Thursdays as well. He can't count macros or anything like that. Far too many business lunches and dinners, but he'll put in a solid breakfast routine. Supplements won't be necessary. The PT shifts the stance of his massive body slightly and smiles faintly. The customer says he knows what all the machines do, he just needs someone to put together a program for him. He's read that what he needs are light weights over many repetitions, or whatever "you" people call it, to build lean muscles. Perhaps he should do cardio instead? Mainly he needs help with proper form so that he doesn't get any injuries. That would steal far too much time from his busy schedule.
The PT is patiently waiting for the customer to finish so he can ask if he brought any headphones. Either he didn't, and that's OK, or he did, but they aren't suitable in the gym environment. Regardless he'll lend him a fresh pair, straight from the box. He'll bring him a pre-workout drink as well, on the house. Then he'll show how to sit, how to hold, what the motion is, and then instruct him to follow the tempo in the headphone. Lift, hold, slowly back, repeat. Just listen to the loop in the headphones.
The PT is patient because he knows at the end of the session he'll suggest the customer keep coming the rest of the week to perfect his form. He'll know the customer will agree to that. The drugs and the audio has made sure of that. He'll know that by next week the customer is eagerly coming in every day without the need for any spiked workout shakes or subliminal messages. He'll get them anyway throughout the first month. By then the image of the PT's juicy pecs, capped shoulders, rippling abs, protruding traps, and bulging biceps are imprinted into the customer's brain as a clear and obtainable goal. The PT isn't topless just to be pretty.
