Of the top of my head, there were a few known cases of US Volksdeutsche (Americans of German descent) joining the German Army during WW2. During the mid and late 30s there were organizations like the German American Bund that actually held parades and rallys in the US in support of Nazi Germany before the war started. When the war started, Hitler called all "true Aryans" to fight for the Fatherland. The exact numbers that joined up aren't known, save a few well known cases here and there. Remember, we didn't enter the war right away. So these Volksdeutsche weren't fighting Americans. Once we went to war with Germany, they still served the Army of their ancestral homeland. It happened with Italian Americans as well that joined the Italian Army. There aren't many cases of Japanese Americans joining their ancestral country's army, but I can't say with certainty that it didn't happen. Depsite that, it's ironic that it was mainly the Japanese Americans that were put into internment camps and not so much German and Italian Americans.

The battle scenes are pretty awesome. I was gonna say its unrealistic how little casualties the americans took but at the end I realized its based on a real battle that happened.
