Coach just rolled his eyes and pushed Hal. "Just be ready. You got one more match and then you're up." He kept walking to the other wrestlers at the school and sat down in a chair. He had a constant glare as he looked through the crowd of people.
Hal was starting to get worried. The spell he'd cast still had another half hour before it would wear off. And right now he was sitting in the middle of a cheering stadium as two guys started went at it against each other. From a straight standard, wrestling was always considered normal. “Good. You’re up next. Get ready,” the coach pushed Hal onto the mat in front of his opponent. He was already stretching out. Hal felt so stiff. But at the same time he was scolding himself for being so thoughtless.
He hadn’t realized that Scotty was doing something like this. He figured his roommate was at the gym. Or with that girl he sometimes hung around with. However, he was at an important meet that Hal was about to screw up. The guy stood back up and bumped his fists.
“Good luck,” he smiled.
Hal was caught off guard at the friendly nature of the match. “Right! You too,” he muttered.
“Calm the fuck down!” he could hear his coach in the background. “For fucks sake… What’s gotten into that boy…”
“Right… Calm down…” Hal told himself. He tried his best to stay calm but seeing the strong stance of the guy in front of him staring him down he couldn’t help but be a bit turned on. Knowing exactly what was about to happen just seemed to distract him even more. He did his best to think about what he was supposed to do but the only time he’d ever ‘wrestled’ was in gym class back in high school. And that was more of just sitting around on the mat with his friends talking while the coach paid attention to the guys who actually wanted to do it.
His opponent grabbed onto his waist and tried to take him down. Hal’s eyes went wide as he realized the match had already started. He tried his best to figure out how to move but nothing was really coming to mind. The body he was in seemed to have a bit of a natural defense and shifted his weight so he fell in a more advantageous way but Hal didn’t know how to follow it up to get out of the hold.
