House of the Dragon - Rhaenyra Targaryen Theme
🕑 Added 2024-06-24 20:30:22 +0000 UTCHappy June everyone! It's been so gorgeous out here, which means recording takes between neighbours loudly mowing their lawns. Not very Medieval of them! It would be so much quieter if they all switched to scythes.
Now this is a little embarrassing, but I haven't actually caught up on season 2 House of the Dragon yet. My intention was to post this song and then watch after as some sort of reward, and my family has carefully spared me from any spoilers. If you're watching, how are you enjoying it?
One other little update: I recently did a quick radio interview on the Colin McEnroe show. It was a short piece and I didn't say much that you haven't heard before if you've listened to my other interviews, but there was a funny moment where he accidentally no-scoped the next cover I'm in the middle of recording right now. You can listen to the entire show, which was Shakespeare themed, here!

No problem Hildy, happy to see your reply now! Yeah, scythes take some practice. I took a course. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's a really nice tool. You can do a lot of work quickly but you can also be very precise.

Sorry Julian, I had meant to reply! Thanks so much for your kind words. As for the interview, I come in around 34:14 near the end. :) And I didn't know that about scythes! I got to use a real one once and realized how much skill it actually takes.

Season has been great and thank you for this

Excellent! This would befit a big money TV show. Which part of the interview has you in it? Also, scythes for the win! They kill fewer insects than post-medieval mowing equipment, and they burn much less fuel.

Thank you on both counts for listening!

No way! And thank you, listening back I had to cringe at all my "ums", but it's been so long since I did an interview. It's sort of its own skill!

Great interview and fantastic music! π

I actually got that Sting album (Songs from the Labyrinth) for Christmas in 2007. Haven't listened to it in years. Also there used to be a really good live version of his "La Rossingol" cover on youtube a few years ago but I think it was taken down. Anyway, congratulations on your interview. I think this is your best one yet. WNPR is pretty good!
