The Yoshi's Island Video That Never Was (Raw Audio)
🕑 Added 2017-11-14 05:54:01 +0000 UTCA month or two before I got my nice U37 microphone, I wrote and narrated a video about Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island and the state of the Wii U Virtual Console.
After that, something else grabbed my attention and though I vowed to go back to this Yoshi's Island video, I uh, never did. While backing up files just now in preparation to reinstall Windows, I happened upon the raw audio for this video.
Given that the Wii U is dead, the Virtual Console has yet to launch on the Switch, and the SNES Classic adds a new wrinkle to all of this, a lot of this video is unnecessary now.
So here's the raw, unedited audio for that video. As noted at the start, this was done back on my old LiveChat headset before I got my new microphone, so it's a little dry and scratchy. Just like my last raw audio MP3, this also contains retakes and sloppy mouth noises and deep breaths before I yell my lines in to microphone (and I was even worse about those back then).
If you don't want to listen to me slobber my way through this audio, I've also attached the text file script I was reading from. It's somewhere halfway between a video review and just a general rant video.
One thing that brings this down as strictly something you can read or listen to is the fact that visual references are built in to the script. Unfortunately I wasn't thinking far enough ahead in the future and didn't actually write down what I was referencing at the time -- I figured the turn around for this video would be nice and quick, so I just kept all that information in my head. That was over three years ago, and the specific areas I was referencing have been long forgotten.
Honestly, this should be more about how my pipeline has become much more efficient.
