The Devouring Menace - 022
🕑 Added 2023-10-25 07:22:20 +0000 UTCThe matter was confusing but I didn't let it exhaust my mental energy.
'Ah, there is this ability that I haven't checked yet. It sounds super useful.'
I wondered what kind of boons it was going to give me.

[Metallurgic bioprocessor organ]: It is a biomechanical organ located in the throat and is capable of processing and purifying metal ores of any kind. After processing, if the metal ore is of mystical origin, you can be able to extract its unique properties and merge them with your being. The extraction is purely optional.]

'...'
'Hmm.'
'...'
I was currently having those moments where one is stumped on how to give the appropriate reaction to a good moment.
The ability was beyond good. It was something that anyone with a blacksmithing profession or maybe even alchemy, would surely want to have.
Processing? Purifying? Metal ores of any kind?
Just how biologically superior were the Precursors?
Putting that matter aside, I then looked over at the remaining cloning facilities.
I used my newly gained [Basic Telepathy] to sense if there were any living beings within a 100-meter radius.
My senses tingled when I picked up several brain wave signals. Those beings - their minds only harbored thoughts of chaos, destruction, extreme pain, and thirst for freedom.
I carefully moved toward the megastructures that despite my size I could still fit in and the space inside was still enough.
Various sci-fi biomechanical equipment graced the inside of the cloning facility.
There were various laboratory stations in the open space and huge cylindrical glass tubes erected on each side of the room that made me think of the underground view of Cadmus facilities.
Each of the huge cylindrical glass tubes had unfamiliar alien organisms that I had never seen before. Each one of them had thick coiling pipes inserted through their skin. Surrounding those alien specimens was a green gel-like liquid that was probably a preservative agent or something else entirely that I wasn't privy to.
The encased creatures looked nightmarish with features of both known and unknown species that I couldn't put a finger on.
'This is basically a feast prepared as a tribute for my untimely arrival.' I slowly walked toward the stations that had unfinished creations of Kaijus.
I ate whatever I passed to improve my growth even though the effects were negligible.
Sadly, there weren't any special abilities that I got from the unfinished creations. Then, that only left the half-dead half-alive aliens soaking in blue goo.
I had received the brain signals from them. It was hella annoying now that I was closer to them since their voices were now louder and clearer. I could even feel their anguish as if it were mine.
This kind of empathetic connection made me wanna vomit and I hurriedly turned off my telepathic receiver.
Constantly hearing multiple voices in one's head can make one go berserk as I got to experience it firsthand.
How did Charles Xavier manage to connect with minds at a planetary scale?
I think constantly being closer to the thoughts of other individuals than the individuals themselves was what made Charles Xavier develop a bad habit of always wanting to fix others. (A control freak)
Telepathy was a curse if it remained uncontrollable but a blessing if one could regulate what they allowed to hear in their minds.
This suddenly made me reminiscent of my past life where I had dreams of being a telepath overlord capable of commanding billions of terrifying racial armies like the Zerg to conquer and build an intergalactic empire when I didn't know anything about resource management.
'Hehe, the memory lane…' I grinned before looking at my first snack through the transparent glass.
It looked like a gigantic serpent with the almost innumerable legs of a scorpion and its body shone with the bioluminescence of a Kaiju.
Licking my lips in anticipation, I extended one of my monomolecular claws to test the hardness of the glass.
Ting!
Ting!
I tapped several times and found that it was super hard, probably reinforced with unknown material.
But that didn't mean anything as I made a huge circular scratch on the glass surface with my claw. The sound of glass being carved was hella annoying to human ears but It didn't affect me.
Then with a slight tap, the pressure from inside the cylinder glass pushed the carved-out part before huge volumes of the green liquids began spilling on the floor.
SCREECH!
The serpentine scorpion-like creature weakly screamed at me after having a taste of freedom.
And I replied in kind, of course, by clutching on its slimy body with my Prehensile Tails and began to eat it while it was still alive and fresh.
It didn't stand a chance against my grip.
I finished eating it after a few minutes before continuing to do the same with the remaining 'food'.
And man, I wasn't disappointed after all the analysis was completed.

[Due to evolution and increase of the complex neural synapses of the brain due to consuming one of the Alanara alien species, [Bullet-time perception] has been upgraded to [Accelerated Thought Processing]
[Accelerated Thought Processing: Your ability to process information has been magnified by 1000 times than normal, making you anticipate attack patterns, and enter an illusory chrono-static mode where things around you move painfully slow. Through this ability you can predict several possibilities to a limited degree.]
***
[Hyperalloy bone sheathing: Your bones have now been encased by the indestructible bio-organic living metal 'alkanos'(Race extracted from Metalloidians) boosting your regenerative abilities and defense to a high degree.]
***
[Multi-mind: This unique racial feature of the alien species Da'thraka will enable you to divide your mind into two, enabling you to have multiple thoughts at once. This ability is best known for its multitasking.]
***
[Hyperalloy crystalline carapace: a biomechanical armor forms around your body, including your underbelly to further protect your vitals and weak points e.g. the balls. It can negate the damage done by physical attacks and withstand most energy-based attacks. The armor will continue to adapt the more you evolve.]

With the prompts appearing in front of my eyes, changes and mutations were occurring in both my internal and external systems.
I suddenly felt sleepy due to eating a lot and also due to the incoming evolution I could feel.
[Evolution Phase III initializing…]
Slowly by slowly, I began breaking apart, liquefying, until I was nothing more than primordial ooze.
And then, I blacked out as a fleshy cocoon with elaborate venation and capillaries began to blanket my form in a web-like fashion.
