The Devouring Menace - 037
🕑 Added 2023-11-25 16:53:22 +0000 UTCInside a nameless Monarch Building in Tokyo, moments before Ralph's arrival,
A team of experts looked at the live broadcast of the battle between Titanus Gojira and MUTO Prime in apprehension.
One of the experts was a bespectacled man of Japanese origin with a benevolent look and was dressed in a simple gray suit that did nothing to tarnish the scholarly aura surrounding him.
He was Dr. Serizawa.
Dr. Serizawa looked worried but even then his gaze never lost hope in Gojira - mankind's protector.
MUTO Prime was a menace and proved to be a no-nonsense boss.
No amount of plot armor was going to interfere with that level of fight.
Dr. Serizawa knew that human capabilities were limited in a battle between two alpha titans. They were akin to little helpless ants.
“Dr. Emma Russell, how's your progress on the ORCA?” Dr. Serizawa asked a blue-eyed middle-aged woman.
The woman had golden-brown hair that subtly accentuated her long light brown coat.
She seemed to be so preoccupied with the ongoing battle of the two supreme titans but Dr. Serizawa’s question immediately shaved away some of her attention.
She was the head of bioacoustics at Monarch and an environmental activist who believes that the titans serve a greater purpose than even humanity towards the world.
“Too soon. You could say I am only in the tutorial phase and the real thing is yet to be actualized,” Dr. Russell replied after looking through her iPad nestled in her right hand.
“I am not sure when…” She lightly shook her head with a tired sigh. Visible stress lines could be on her forehead as thought about her project, no, not hers but theirs. It would be selfish of her if she took complete credit for something that her husband helped in.
But still, the eventual successful remodeling of the ORCA would fall under her complete ownership.
What she was developing was for the greater good of humanity. It was the bridge needed to bring humanity as close as possible to the Titans of old.
“Things are getting more difficult with each passing second. I worry that our facility won't endure several more tremors from the Jinshin-Mushi.” A man clad in a white laboratory coat said worriedly over the mic as he analyzed the total damage caused by the seismic waves from the monster fight.
He was Alfredo, the Chief Designer of the Monarch underground facility - humorously like a Doomsday bunker - that has proven capable of resisting ‘weak’ earthquakes to a limited degree.
Not everyone was like Yujiro Hanma.
Unsurprisingly, this special Monarch facility in the suburbs of Tokyo wasn't an Outpost.
There had been a temporary Outpost at Janjira but it had fallen after a MUTO wreaked havoc.
Mt. Fuji was the only Monarch Outpost in Japan, still standing and it made the officials of Monarch feel… thankful.
Mount Fuji was where Titanus Yamata No Orochi was hibernating and if he ever awoke, then there would be so many repercussions.
When a god of suffering awakes, only the mundane world of the mortals would bear his wrath and hatred.
Yamata No Orochi was by no means a god but a demon that pursued destruction.
“He's fighting for us, Emma,” Dr. Serizawa said in a low tone as he witnessed Godzilla being thrown around by MUTO Prime.
“He will lose if we don't do anything, Dr. Serizawa. We have to try and play our part. If only the ORCA was complete…” Dr. Russell tightly clenched her iPad in frustration.
Then, all of a sudden, every single being that was inside the facility heard a foreign howl that made them want to kneel and worship the entity behind it.
It was beautiful and scary at the same time.
It promised both salvation and destruction, making it unique.
It sounded alien and full of dominance, unlike any other titan they had ever heard.
A thought was shared between both Dr. Serizawa and Dr. Russell as they looked at each other. Their faces were super serious.
“An alpha among alphas!” They both said at the same time.
“I need a satellite image of whatever creature that is!” Dr. Russell who was more accomplished in the field of studying the titan language knew oh too well the creature was an anomaly and the howl wasn't truly something she could simulate in the ORCA.
In a matter of seconds, the location of the creature was found and the work of the IT guys had been made easier due to the huge levels of radiation emissions from a specific region above the Pacific. Their tracking sensors could detect any leakage of radiation as long as it was not in well-hidden places.
“A majestic wolf with tails,” Dr. Serizawa fixed his glasses to see the nearly blurry image more clearly.
“No. That isn't a wolf.” Dr. Russell corrected him while pointing at Ralph's image on the large screen. She didn't know what the odd creature really was.
“That's a Lovecraftian horror in the flesh. An agent of chaos.”
It was at that moment that Dr. Serizawa realized that the two titans who had initially been fighting… stopped fighting and gazed in the direction of their new ‘friend’.
Was this maybe an unexpected major boss event?
“They stopped.” Dr. Serizawa murmured in wonder, not completely believing what he was seeing.
“The king has also stopped to listen.” Dr. Russell added quietly.
“What is happening? That outlandish howl isn't a titan language but the two titans chose to cease all actions as if awaiting a common-”
“Enemy!” Dr. Serizawa had the same thought as her.
Both Godzilla and MUTO Prime had felt a mutual threat from the Outlander!

[MC’S POV]
‘I am in the MonsterVerse. The [Interdimensional Travel] function seems to throw me in whatever worlds that I may have a huge chance of survival.’
‘I see. I hope the pace continues like that.’
‘It’s too early for me to be eating with the big players out there like Void Ghidorah.’ I grinned shamelessly, knowing that I was already beyond a mere continental buster and spelling ruination upon a planet was no longer something that I couldn't achieve.
But I knew something deep within myself - I was still weak!
A stronger ant was still an ant!
I wasn't degrading my own value but I knew not to get complacent instead of feeling like the strongest entity in the entire verse.
Ahem, I might have considered myself weak but at least, I was massively stronger than the current Goji who was about to get impregnated by the Ultimate Titan Breeder - MUTO Prime herself!
Damn, she's ugly as fuck!
Godzilla would have probably been 'dicked' if I hadn't arrived.
If that wasn't plot armor, then what was?
I immediately began to fly toward the two horny dogs.
I ought to remind them that they should always keep things at PG-13.
