I'm pleased to tell you the first part of the trilogy is expected to be finished in 2024. If all goes well estimated this summer.
Be advised the final updates from 0.98 onwards may not contain much new content, as we'll focus on completing CQM and balancing out the game.
To answer the question why we are using less preview images, is because many scenes now contain erotic content or would just spoil too much of the upcoming content.
Developing 'The Promise' for several years, I have learned a lot. Be it in terms of programming as well as creating images and animations. This will help working more efficiently and in less time for the second and third part of the sequal.
For instance the 2nd part will still have choices and outcomes but won't be a pure sandbox game. We've found out how much work that has exactly been to bring enough activity, different routes and possibilities.
The game will also be revised to comply with all legal standards. The last updates will no longer be available as public versions, too. The first part will conclude with an end sequence that includes your decisions and the savegame should be usable for the second part. There will also be more surveys and information about the second part in the near future.
As you can see we are now at version 0.94 and closing in on 1.00 which should be the finale. But this would mean by our current release schedule we'd only have 6 month left to complete this first part of the trilogy. Since we don't want to rush things or keep content out we've decided to give ourselves a bit more time on each version and to use a time window from now so you can see our progress.
This will not only give us a bit more breathing space, especially in January and February but also enables us to provide you with a bigger update without losing quality.
Releasing an update every 4-6 weeks has been an original plan from the start and gotten into a monthly rhythm with fixed dates sometimes leading to content not making it on time.
Therefore we will widen the deadline by two weeks reaching that 4-6 margin after the latest release.
To keep you posted I will announce the exact day the next version roles out one-two weeks in advance. 0.95 will be in mid February.
Appologies for those of you who felt we kept them waiting, this has never been our intention and never will be.
I hope you'll have a lot of more fun playing this Trilogy. 😉 Our scene writer and I are already brainstorming for more ideas and we have many.
Best regards and have fun.
Your Xagrim
