Great, and promising even more greatness! Just want to throw out an idea but what if they put the door-port in Laken's village? It would avoid a lot of questions and city politics, they don't know many beyond the enchanter, though he might be an alternative, Laken's people are loyal and isolated to likely be silent, gives both sides an emergency connection to another large city.
