More than one kind of old one: remember that when the Selphids took the flesh of Gravehome they formed a gestalt monster that Neirs designated an "old one" even though it was brand new. As psychic as it was it might have even inherited truly ancient memories, but it seems to be more of a power designation than anything else. I think it is too far away from Liscor to be the Mother of Graves by a different tunnel, I could be wrong about that given she has been awakened by the Solstice.

I'm wondering if it may be a generic term for those Tier 8 monsters that have been fermenting and growing in dungeons for millenia, but don't necessarily have a species per se. Shirka's thought just before, might be referring to them: " The same feeling as she got when she heard Named-ranks talk about the things you found that had no name until they killed it."

It's more the "it killed magic" thing that I am trying to figure out in conjunction with the other mentions of old ones. The wandering inn needs a beastry or something.

Well, Niers and Folena were able to escape, while the rest of their who named-rank team died. Niers fits into a pocket and Folena is a super sneaker rogue. The Old One in the high passes didnt find Gothica, so it is plausible that Folina would be able to escape as well

Yeah , the slam link did nothing on day 1 so not sure I missed anything as much as it wasn't a working link when I read this. Slam just sent e back to the top of the same page when I tried it.
