It might be just for the gold, little drakes sometimes have that "hoarding" problem they don't grow out of. Dragons don't spend their hoard: the financial value is secondary to the fact that they own it and can brag about it.

It could have been an entire volume, right? In the USA, just leaving the gold standard behind was so stressful for society it lead to one of the first conspiracy theory eras. How much worse would it be with a global media lacking professional standards, brand new quest based banking and cash transfers, and skill vs skill. I'm sorta glad a high level fate power found the opportunity in the zeitgeist and kind of back-doored everything, TBH.

It really is amazing to me how consistently Patreon makes things worse for its users. They could have just… not made any UI changes since 2020 (when did they first start pushing the app?) and the site would have stayed so much better
