No Chapter Update -- 2/25/2023
🕑 Added 2023-02-26 00:08:07 +0000 UTCI think I've done this less than ten times so far, for big chapters, and for bad ones. And that is invoking my right to delay updating the story because the chapter is not ready.
The simple truth is that it isn't good enough. I have 'today', which is the day in which I post to edit. But I cannot see a way in 8 hours where I'd be able to fix all the issues in the part that is written--and finish writing what I have planned.
As it is, I would release a mediocre chapter at best and so I will delay the release, finish it, and publish it Tuesday. Hopefully.
I apologize. But I have both been off-flow and overambitious and while that happens in the course of writing, it resulted in a mess. Sometimes, perhaps, I'd just publish it but I do not want to.
I wrote 38,000 words in the last two days and yet it wasn't good. It was quantity over quality and so the update off should allow me to finish the entire chapter (it wasn't even 'finished'), and correct the many issues therein.
So, delayed chapter. Hopefully this isn't a trend or signs of a larger problem. But I don't like it. It feels like cracks in the amber. Writing isn't something you get to rest your laurels upon, if you have any. It's constantly proving you can do it and trying to surpass what's been done, including yourself. Unfortunately, this was a bad chapter. Let's see what Tuesday turns it into.

iirc, the Selphid Company talked about "send the Duck" in a G chapter before she was taken. People were thinking it was a Selphid piloting a Duck.

Help request for the web page slueths. Occasionally I see the artwork, side comments, or other things in this story that seem self-referential to Pirate's career before TWI. For example, lots of folks cheered "The Duck" in the comments of GGGGGG but I have no idea who "The Duck" is after three rotations through this story. Does anyone know if there are existing stories or webtoons created by Pirate that I could still find? Is Pirate's previous history totally scrubbed? I'd appreciate any guides while we wait.

I'm seriously shocked this doesn't happen more often. I'm not a full time author, but it once took me four years to write the "next chapter" ... I'm still at 6+ years for the one after that :)

If pirateaba reads through all these comments, I hope they see the many people that are 100% cool with the chapter being delayed and ignore the very small minority that are complaining. We can all wait, especially if the chapter is going to be as large as implied. And hey, if it all gets the axe and it's only (lol) 18,000 words or something, we know it'll be a damn good chapter because of it.
