TAMCG Chapter 35: Conflict
🕑 Added 2024-09-02 08:21:15 +0000 UTCThird Person P.O.V
Ryuichi had serious doubts about this plan, but it was the best he could come up with in the few seconds he had to think, so he had to try it.
So he shouted a word loud enough for everyone to hear before coming out from behind the column where he was hiding, running at full speed towards where the crazy guy and Kiba were fighting while he dodged as best he could the benches that the little white-haired girl threw at the exorcists who came out of the underground passage.
Kiba, who was still trying to land a cut on his opponent, managed to see him out of the corner of his eye when he was a few meters away and jumped back, letting Ryuichi approach the madman with his fist raised.
"I caught you!!"
He screamed as he jumped and swung his fist at the man, but before the fist got too close to his face, Freed Zelsen, the mad exorcist, simply swung the blade stabbing Ryiuchi's throat while his feet had not yet touched the ground.
"Of course not, assholeeee." He chanted in a mocking tone, but to his confusion, Ryuichi's horrified face formed a smile, and the image of him became transparent, although before disappearing he managed to say a single word.
"Now!!" He screamed, and before fading like a ghost, Kiba pierced the image of Ryuichi's ghost with his sword pointing at the exorcist's chest.
"!!!" Zelzen's expression showed shock, and he moved as quickly as he could to the side trying to avoid the fatal blow.
"Urgh." He complained holding his side as his trench coat and white shirt became stained with red liquid.
"Tricky little shits, that's not fair!!" He said jumping back and dodging another slash from Kiba's sword.
"Attacking with a weapon from behind is not very fair either." The blonde knight responded, advancing once again to attack.
"Hahaha, I did it because it's that kind of thing that shitty devils deserve." The crazy man said, putting his hand into the inside pocket of his raincoat and taking out an object.
"I can't kill all of you now, but one day I'll have a lot of fun making you p-ghk!!" Ryuichi interrupted Zelzen by kicking him from behind just before he finished his sentence, and he could use whatever he had in his hand.
Propelled forward, where Kiba was already waiting for him with his sword in his hand, the only thing Freed could do was move his body a little to the side, preventing the sword from stabbing him in the heart, but the weapon ended up piercing his shoulder.
"Bastard!!" The priest growled, moving his injured arm with a fist formed towards Kiba's face, who did not expect this and ended up receiving the blow on the cheek, retreating a couple of steps and releasing the handle of his sword, a moment that was taken advantage of by Zelzen, who crushed what he had in his hand.
The object made a cracking sound before breaking apart and emitting a powerful light that blinded everyone within a radius of several meters away.
"Ahgr!" In the middle of the light, the sound of breaking glass was heard along with several moans, those being the exorcists who were still trying to reach Koneko and Ryuichi himself, who experienced for the first time what those who received his Taiyoken.
The light shined for about 5 seconds before quickly extinguishing, leaving only 4 conscious people visible.
"He escaped." Kiba said a little frustrated as he looked at the trail of blood that led to a broken window.
"Ah, wait, I still don't see anything." Ryuichi said, rubbing his eyes with his palms, trying to get rid of the itchy and uncomfortable feeling he had, it was lucky that he had closed his eyes a fraction of a second after that light grenade exploded, otherwise he would be writhing on the ground, as were the exorcists who stayed and were then put to sleep, courtesy of Koneko.
"We have to move." Kiba said looking around him, but the moment he did so a spear of violet light went through the entrance door of the church, landing a dozen meters from where Kiba was.
The blonde knight hesitated for a moment but quickly decided that the best course of action was to split up. "Koneko-chan, Rias-sama, and Akeno-san are taking too long, those who are fighting with them can be troublesome, please go and support them so they can reach us faster"
Koneko nodded and after a. "Understood Yuuto-senpai." She turned around and ran towards the church entrance.
"We should hurry, I have a bad feeling." The knight said before running in the direction of the underground passage, but when he, Ryuichi, and Asia arrived and tried to step inside, 3 figures flew towards them with spears ready to pierce them.
Two swords appeared in Kiba's hands, each blocking a spear that was aimed at him.
Ryuichi grabbed the fallen who tried to stab him by the wrists, stopping the spear's advance and deflecting it a little from its original trajectory, but the burning in his shoulder let him know he hadn't been fast enough, and the weapon managed to wound him.
Ryuichi fell backward, and as soon as his back hit the ground he used the momentum to roll, raise his legs, and crash the soles of his feet against the torso of whoever tried to stab him with.

"How much more to go?" Dohnaseek asked Reynare while the rest of the fallen looked through the door to see if any of the intruders had come to where they were.
"5 minutes." That was all Raynare said without removing her hands or eyes from the device, sweat dripping from his forehead as she had her hands on the cross, and followed the process with her full attention.
"Tch, that's too much, I don't hear any fighting noises anymore, did they finish off that lunatic Freed?"
"That doesn't matter now, it's almost there, we just have to delay them a little more, once I have the Boosted Gear, it doesn't matter how strong they are, I'll just need a couple of boosts, and we'll have enough to escape or crush them"
"Damn it!." Dohnaseek cursed through gritted teeth. "Come on, we have to stop them before they get here." He said angrily after kicking the seat where he had been sitting, the chair flew until it collided with the wall and was destroyed.
"What?! They will kill us, we have less than half our energy." Mittelt complained.
"And if they get here, the plan goes to shit, and they'll kill us anyway, but if we delay them long enough, she gets the god killer weapon, and we'll have a chance to save our skin, I don't give a damn if you want to stand here, between a certain death and an almost certain death, my choice is clear." He grunted opening the door and walking out.
Kalawarner looked between the passage where Dohnaseek left and Raynare and Mittelt before moving down the hallway.
Mittelt looked at everyone with an annoyed expression before also walking down the hallway while he muttered. "They are going to kill us all, I didn't even want to come to this damn place"

The moment my feet touched my opponent's torso and propelled him as I rolled I thought I would have at least a second or two to get up and finish the fight, but that wasn't the case.
I hadn't even finished rolling, but I felt the enemy I was holding struggle enough to break free from my grip and reverse the situation, this time it was me who was held at the same time that feathered wings came out of her back.
"W-!!" I couldn't do anything else when I was dragged away from Kiba and Asia, a second later, my back collided with a church window, crashing through it and sending me rolling across the grass until my back collided with the trunk of one of the trees that surrounded the church.
My mouth opened, and I tried to suck in some air, but my first two attempts were useless, I knew what was happening to me, when you receive a strong blow to the back or stomach, breathing is cut off for a few seconds, and becoming desperate can greatly aggravate the situation, so I tried to calm down to recover as quickly as possible, and a few seconds later I was finally able to breathe again.
I looked up while I felt sweat dripping down my face, and I saw a blonde girl kneeling on the ground holding her stomach with one hand while she was leaning on the ground using the other.
She was panting a little, one of her eyes was closed while the other looked directly at me, the expression on her face let me see that in addition to being in pain, she was upset.
I felt something strange in my brain, like a small voice was trying to tell me something, and after watching it as I stood up I realized that I had seen this girl before.
She was the one that day!! The same one when I found that pamphlet and the one where Kiba appeared in my room!!
"You are the cosplayer from that time." I said when I finished catching my breath, although, at that moment, I felt a strong pain in my back that almost made me complain.
I was sure I had a huge bruise on it, so my ki moved to try to heal it at least to the point where I could move without wanting to lie on the floor in the fetal position.
She looked confused for a couple of seconds until something clicked in her head, and her eyes widened in surprise. "You are the one I marked that day"
And at that moment, I could see in the distance how a huge lightning bolt fell from the sky.

"Ah, ah, ah." Akeno breathed slowly, recovering some of the lost breath as she watched from the air as the four-winged fallen angel she had been fighting fell from the sky with his entire body charred and his eyes white.
It had been difficult, much more than she expected, and as proof of that were the cuts that she had in some parts of her body, the now partially destroyed miko costume, and the ugly bruise that she had on one of her legs.
The fallen angel was not dead, because, although he was a brute and a brain of muscle, he was also quite resistant, and she reluctantly had to admit that if she had fought as she normally did, and not given everything from the beginning, this fight might not have turned out in her favor.
Determined to finish off the black-feathered scum, Akeno prepared a new lightning attack, but before launching it she heard Rias's voice behind her, shouting her name with clear concern.
And only when she turned around did she see the fallen angel that Rias had been fighting flying towards her at full speed.
"Ack!" Akeno couldn't react in time, and a fist covered in light hit her in the stomach, knocking the air out of her.
"Most people let their guard down the moment they think they have victory between their fingers, it's a shame that someone as strong as you are in that group." He said softly before moving to be behind her and wrapping one of his arms around her neck, trapping her in a headlock.
"Akeno!" Rias's voice came a second later, and the redhead stopped, flying in front of both of them with her wings spread and a very threatening orb of power of destruction in her hands.
"I would recommend that you stay where you are and don't do anything stupid." The fallen said, tightening her grip on Akeno's neck a little, making it even more difficult for her to breathe.
Rias's eyes glowed red with anger. "Take your hands off my friend"
"That will depend on what you do next." He said, grimacing as he felt a sting on his side, the product of an attack of destruction that he could not block or dodge, and now he did not stop bleeding.
"I'm not going to negotiate with you." She said, still staring at him.
"If that's what you want, fine, I'll snap her neck like a twig, and then we can keep fighting, now, are you sure that's what you want? I'm hurt, but you're not in the best condition either, you know very well that if we fight you might kill me, but your death is just as likely, so you want your friend and maybe you and I to end up dead or you'll close your mouth and hear my deal?" He said, looking back at her without showing any fear.
Rias was not in the best condition, in several places her uniform had been destroyed, and she had scratches and even some bruises on various parts of her body, and although she did not have a major wound like Arasnel, her energy reserve was low enough to worry her about what would happen if this fight continued.
She gritted her teeth in frustration and growled a. "Speak." To the fallen.
Arasnel used the hand that wasn't holding Akeno and pointed at the unconscious Krugas. "I'll take him with me, we'll both leave here without you attacking us, I'll give her to you right before we both leave, after that, you can do whatever you want with Reynare and her group of clowns"
Rias wasn't sure how to respond, but luckily she didn't have to, because just then a stone the size of a rugby ball hit the back of the fallen's head.
His vision flickered, and he felt his arms go limp, Akeno, who had a red face from the lack of oxygen, fell from his grasp, still dizzy from the blow to her stomach and the grip on her neck, she was unable to stay flying, so she fell.
Between the flickers of his consciousness, Arasnel could see a white-haired girl standing on the ground, and next to her were more rocks of similar sizes to the one she hit him with.
At that moment, the fallen understood that he had just lost his only advantage, so she had to act quickly if he wanted him and his idiot brother to leave this place alive.
So he did the first thing that came to mind, taking Akeno's foot that was still within his reach, he could no longer use her as a hostage, the redhead who was flying towards him with an orb of destruction energy in her hand would reach him before he could properly hold onto her neck again.
And in the few seconds that had passed, the white-haired girl was already taking a position to throw another rock at him, he could dodge it, but that would only leave him more open for the redhead to eliminate him with her attack.
So, to get out of this situation, he swung his arm and threw Akeno directly towards Rias with all the force he could, the redhead was caught off guard, and the orb of power of destruction vanished, instead she opened her arms and caught Akeno.
While this was happening Arasnel flew straight towards where his brother was, only covering his head with his hands to prevent another rock from hitting him on the head.
It took a total of 7 seconds, but when he finally reached Krugas he held him by a part of his clothing that was not torn and looked up, at that moment he could see a dark red orb 3 meters in diameter coming towards him and his brother.
"Disappear." With a gaze cold as ice, Rias looked at the two fallen as her sphere of destruction advanced toward them.
"Ha, you better thank me after this, idiot, I don't care how much you want to fuck a crazy woman, next time we won't risk our necks for the first pair of tits that ask you for help." He complained with a half-hearted laugh as he let go of Krugas, letting him fall to the ground and raising his arms, the next moment, a dome of light covered both him and his unconscious brother.
The sphere of destruction collided with the light barrier, and it flickered repeatedly as red and yellow sparks jumped, cracks appeared along the barrier, and it seemed to lose ground, bending slightly as if it would be destroyed at any moment.
Arasnel grunted with the effort, straining his stamina and energy reserves to maintain the barrier as long as possible, then he lifted his left foot and with the toe of his shoe began to trace lines on the ground as fast as he could.
Sweat was falling rapidly from his forehead, and his expression was that of a nervous smile with a hint of annoyance.
"Come on!" He said struggling, at this point, his barrier had filled with cracks, and it seemed like it wouldn't last more than a few more seconds.
"Now!" The fallen shouted holding one of his wings and plucking several feathers as the patterns he drew on the ground began to glow.
And just after his shout the barrier collapsed, the light enveloped him and his brother, and the sphere of destruction exploded releasing all of its energy.

With a final cut from Kiba, the fallen male's arm separated from his body, which added to the several cuts he already had, marked his defeat.
"AAAHHH!!!" Dohnaseek screamed, falling into a sitting position on the ground as he held his shoulder with his only remaining arm.
The tip of the sword went to his neck while the other pointed to the fallen woman lying a couple of meters away from him, she was holding the side of her abdomen where she had received a stab.
"This is the only mercy I will offer, whether they live or die from your wounds is not my problem, but if you try anything else I will cut both your throats." Kiba said looking at both defeated opponents, the two seemed to be in pitiful condition, unable to fight, but Kiba knew well that he couldn't let his guard down as long as both of them were still breathing.
"Asia-san, we have to keep moving, if Issei-kun is injured I will need your help." The knight said, looking out of the corner of his eye at what was behind him.
After saying that, a mop of blonde hair peeked out from a column a few meters away.
"B-but are you going to leave them like this? They could die if they lose too much blood, and what about Ryuichi-san? Shouldn't we help him too?" She said looking at the fallen who were still breathing and the broken window where Ryuichi had been thrown out of, she was worried about Issei, but ignoring those injured people and the one who had interceded for her with the devils made her feel quite uncomfortable.
"They are enemies who tried to kill us, not having killed them during the fight is more than enough mercy." Kiba responded before looking at the broken window where Ryuichi and another of the fallen who had attacked them had flown out.
"And about Kaname-san, he's not weak nor a fool, I trust that he'll be able to hold his own against that fallen angel for a while, he can be very creative during a fight, it's something I learned the hard way." He said before taking Asia's hand and moving forward.
He didn't dislike Ryuichi, but just as Rias had said, fellow peerage members mattered much more than others, so Kiba wished Ryuichi luck in surviving and continued with Asia to rescue Issei.

Just like the chapter says, the conflict continues, some fights end and others start, in the next chapters there will be a bit of Issei's development, I hope you like it.
