Basemesh Progress Update
🕑 Added 2019-08-30 18:47:11 +0000 UTCHello,
I've been working hard on developing a skin material that feels authentic to the texture of real skin, which is something I feel like almost every game lacks, and making general progress with NaughtySandbox’s basemesh – which will be quite customizable for everyone to design her more to their tastes.
And some full body shots, currently using stand-in hair from Epic's game Paragon, but everything else is made completely by me. The mesh is poly modeled in Maya LT, textured in Substance Painter, with additional skin textures and the skin fuzz system built with Substance Designer. Skin will get higher quality than this as I add detail maps and sculpt some realism with Zbrush - which I can't currently afford a personal license for at the moment ): ):
I’m still nowhere near good enough to make photoreal digital humans just yet (which is a skill I think legitimately only a handful of people in the world have achieved, I trawl through Artstation looking for these guys and they’re rare) but I plan to reach this level hopefully soon during the development of this project.
Most people with that level of skill or talent are getting paid a ton by AAA studios and would never jeopardize their reputation by putting their skills into a lewdy game because of the current fragile climate around this kinda topic. Or they just don’t like the idea of lewding their creations which is fine or whatever.
In the meantime, here’s some head / face progress which I’m not super happy with but I feel like is still higher quality than many lewdy games I’ve seen.
Faces will also be customizable with an insane amount of control, because the goal is to be able to recreate anyone’s face with a degree of accuracy that other people would be able to recognize them (if they’re a celebrity or something). Not that I wanna advocate “non consensual porn” of course (:

I’m going to start blogging fairly regularly from now on, and doing low-key promotion for this project on social media. I don’t want to start hardcore promo until I have a playable build ready to go, but I’d at least like to raise awareness for anyone who might be interested in following NaughtySandbox’s development for now.
Please follow on Twitter and Instagram and follow this Patreon if you’re interested in the project but don’t want to support yet.
P.S If you read hardcore promo as hardcore porno you have to support the project on Patreon k
