To be Humans (I) [Chapter 20]...
🕑 Added 2022-04-17 15:34:22 +0000 UTC“What is happening?” Saeko asked as Roberta told everyone that something was going on outside.
“Please, hurry!” Kenji Aoba added with a pleading look on his face. After that, nobody asked anything else, they believed that something serious must have happened for the man to act in such a manner.
The whole group finally arrived on the balcony. At first, the newer arrivals didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, but that was until Tsukomo Seiji who had been waiting for everyone’s arrival at the balcony pointed in a certain direction with a mix of horrified and disgusted look on his face.
Everyone turned their heads only to find a bleeding man leaning on a wall, while a little girl seemed to be kneeling in front of the man. From the looks of it, it seemed that the little girl was the daughter of the man, who seemed to be bleeding to death. The man didn’t seem to be bitten, instead, the man seemed to have been stabbed.
The duo was in the front yard of a nearby building, thankfully the metal grill in front of the house was closed or the Zombies would have swamped the whole front yard of the house. They must have made a lot of noise, though everyone except for Aoba Kenji and Tsukomo Seiji started to wonder how could something like this happen.
Though one person within the group was affected the most after watching the sight in front of her. Maresato Chiba shook her head with a look of anguish mixed with disbelief on her face. Unable to hold back her tears, she rushed towards the railing, but Roberta grabbed her hand from behind, to stop the woman from jumping off.
“Kenji!!!” Chiba screamed without caring about the consequences and the man who was bleeding to his death only a few houses away looked up. Even the little girl turned around to look where the vice came from. “Alice!! Stay right there. Mama is coming for you!” Chiba screamed loudly, but that was the last thing she did. Roberta chopped the back of her head and knocked her out.
Both the girl and the dying man had obviously recognized the woman who had screamed at them. Unfortunately, Maresato Kenji no longer had the power to say anything or he would have reassured his daughter that they were going to be saved, no matter how low the chances were. “Mama!!” Maresato Alice yelled out to her mother in complete joy. She had not seen her mother since yesterday, but now she was so happy to finally be able to see her mother again.
Meanwhile, on the balcony, everyone was surprised by Roberta’s action. Roberta simply ignored everyone’s reaction and handed over the knocked-out woman to Kou Emiko. “Why did you do that?” Kou Emiko finally gained back her voice and questioned Roberta with a bewildered look on her face.
“What’s happening? What is all this ruckus about?” Before Roberta could give an answer, Daichi came out from the back while putting on a t-shirt, followed by Kemono who was wearing a large bathing gown. It wouldn’t take a genius to realize what the two of them had been doing, especially when Kemono had admitted to having an intimate relationship with her adoptive son.
Even Kohta, who had been sleeping on the couch in the living room, came up running due to all the ruckus. Roberta was a diligent maid, so she stepped forward and decided to answer Daichi-sama's question. "Daichi-sama, they are the husband and daughter of this woman" Roberta said as she pointed towards Chiba who was in Kou Emiko's arms.
"She was unable to hold back her emotions, and she ended up screaming so I knocked her out. She was trying to jump from here" Roberta explained the whole situation. Daichi glanced towards the woman and then he glanced towards the stranded father and daughter, the father seemed to be barely clinging to his life.
With so many Zombies gathered around that house, it would be very difficult to save them, but not impossible if nothing goes wrong. The damn Zombies were also gathering around their house due to the ruckus, not that Daichi could blame Maresato Chiba. Anyone in her place would have done the same, but that didn't mean that he wasn't annoyed.
"Hirano-San, I want you to cover us from here. Mom, you take Saeko-Chan with you and clear the Zombies around this house. Tsukomo-San, you can give the two of them cover, right?" Daichi questioned while staring at the said man. Seiji simply nodded his head with a perplexed look on his face. Daichi looked like any other teenager, but now all of a sudden, he was looking like an imposing leader.
"Bella, Roberta, the two of you are with me" Daichi ordered while looking toward Bella and Roberta. Then he turned towards Sara and Kou. "The two of you, take her inside and lay her down on the bed" Daichi finally finished dishing out the orders. Kemono was grinning like a loon, she loved it whenever her son was being commanding.
Bella was practically bursting in joy. Right now, her Lord was so hot. After getting a determined nod from everyone, Daichi nodded his head with a satisfied look on his face. "Okay, then. Let's go!" Daichi said as he started to make his way towards the stairs, followed by Bella, who was skipping in excitement, and Roberta, who looked stoic as ever, but soon her mask was going to come off and she was really worried about it.
"Wait! What are we supposed to do?" Yuriko asked and Daichi stopped for a second. Then he turned back and looked at the woman.
"I am sorry, I don't know what you are good at. If you can handle weapons then please provide us cover along with Hirano-San and Tsukomo-San" Daichi replied as he left along with Bella and Roberta. Kemono then turned towards Saeko, who was staring right at her with a Katana clutched in her hands.
"You heard what my son said. We need to kill some Zombies" Kemono said with a vicious grin as she cracked her fingers.
"After you, Yozora-Dono" Saeko answered politely as the two of them also started to make their way towards the stairs. While climbing down the stairs, Saeko decided to ask Kemono something, she wanted to ask the question for quite some time. “Um… Yozora-Dono, do you think you will be fine? I mean dressed like that?” Saeko asked with a confused look on her face.
Kemono seemed to ponder the question for a bit. “I won’t be moving around too much, so I think it will be fine” Kemono shrugged dismissively. Saeko simply accepted the answer, she had thought that Kemono was a melee fighter, but if she was a Magician like Bella, then she wouldn’t need to move much, so it was probably fine.
“Did you want to ask something else?” Kemono asked when she noticed that Saeko was still staring at her. After hearing Kemono’s question, Saeko was pulled back into the real world. She quickly shook her head to clear her mind.
“Sorry… I was lost in my thoughts” Saeko quickly apologized. Then she started to wonder if she should tell the woman about her relationship with her son.
Saeko also knew what Daichi and Kemono had been doing, but she had already come to terms with the fact that she wasn’t going to be the only woman in his life. Saeko decided to do her best so that she could impress her mother-in-law and she needed to work extra hard because the other woman was not only Daichi-Kun's mother, she was also one of his lovers. Yes, it might sound weird, but it didn’t bother Saeko in the least.
Meanwhile, Daichi was making his way toward the father and daughter duo along with two extremely deranged women in tow. He already knew that Bella was nuttier than a fruitcake but he honestly didn’t expect Roberta to be the same. Now the new clothes of Roberta made a lot more sense. Roberta had started to shoot Zombies while giggling like a demented pervert.
‘That is hot as fuck… Well, as long as she doesn’t shoot me. I seem to get turned on by psychotic women, maybe I am also a demented pervert’ Daichi wondered as he continued to Roberta, who seemed to be having the time of her life. Right now, Bella was simply skipping with a spring in her step behind Daichi, since Daichi had told her to stay put, she decided to treat the whole mission as a nighttime stroll.
The sounds of the gunshots have started to gain the attention of the Zombies. Daichi smiled and brandished his metal pipe… He also needed to get a better weapon in the future. “Bella, let’s go and kill some Zombies” Daichi grinned as he glanced at Bella from the corner of his eyes. Bella immediately cheered and clapped her hands in joy.
“Let’s go! Let’s go!!” Bella cheered and Daichi finally lunged toward the incoming horde of Zombies. Roberta was still shooting, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t fire 10 bullets instantaneously. She needed a small break before she could shoot again. Daichi bashed the head of one Zombie with his pipe, killing it instantly, and kicked a nearby Zombie.
The Zombie flew back and smashed against a nearby wall. That Zombie also stopped moving… Bella swung her hands creating two flame whips, she beheaded two Zombies near Daichi from the back. Bella knew that her Lord needed to kill Zombies along with her to complete his Primary Job requirement, that is why she decided to support her Lord from the back, instead of taking the lead.
The three of them continued to massacre the Zombies without any difficulties. With their current stats, a Zombie horde only this big was nothing more than garbage…

Yes, as I mentioned in my other comment, she will be in the Secondary Harem. Her ability will be important in the future and her attitude is also going to change
